You can search all the websites you want son, I work with and know dozens of physicians. Their incomes are nowhere near what the web is reporting. If our local troll/liar is a successful plastic surgeon in private practice, they can make serious money. If you're a plastic surgeon who has a better guy down the road, you make very little. Having MD or DO after your name doesn't guarantee you fabulous wealth.
Not sure why you are calling me a troll/liar. Nowhere did I claim all docs make great money nor did I describe all the various MD activities I do to make my money. The question said profession/income/state so I answered it.
For the record: pre-tax but post-expenses
Direct patient care by me: $320-340K
Medical director of two facilities where I practice (I'm the only sub specialist of my kind in a 7 county area so I kind of get this entitlement without competing vs other sub specialists for the perk): $110K
Nurse practitioner supervision (incentive-based): $220-300K for past 5 years.
Expenses
Malpractice (in tort reform state): $6K/year
Student loans: none. I went to academically weak state school and weak state med school, all 8 years on full academic ride.
FYI, my high school PRs are atrocious. I'm fat and couldn't break 2 hr in the half when I trained for 5 months. I'm here because I'm a helicopter dad picking up training info for my kids who I admittedly push too hard in training. So now you have reason to beat on me.
