Didn't read the rest of the thread so no trolling, but senior software engineer in a low COL area, 101+10 this year. Would make more in CA, Washington, or NY but my house here cost 200k
Own a landscaping company.
5 years in business
Oregon
$224k last year. I only pay myself $84k, the rest goes back into company or retirement.
North Carolina insurance sales. The last eight years have been at $105,000 to $125,000. Renewals are where I make money. However, I just walked away from it because you get the renewals as long as you are with the company. The company started having their telemarketing division call customers and cutting our commissions. So I saw the handwriting on the wall.
I just became a broker and am working on rolling as many of those customers over to me as an independent broker and those renewals will be mine for as long as I keep the customer on the books. The commissions are much higher as a broker but I no longer get mileage, health insurance and salary. My goal is to build my monthly renewals up to $8 grand a month plus new business which will put me back where I need to be.

The money goes a long long way here in Mississippi.
I work in the med device industry in sales. My income fluctuates wildly. I wouldn't wish my industry on my worst enemy.
Doc who makes $700k. Tell us, are in private practice? What sector of the industry do you work in? There aren't a lot of physicians making that much money anymore, and most that do are paying about $150k+ in malpractice insurance. Being a doc these days is for the passion, not the money. A helluva lot of family practice or ER docs wouldn't even qualify to post here because they don't make over $100k
ER averages 330
Family med averages 210
I don't know what you're talking about. Income is highly dependent on location for docs though: family could be 100 in san fran or 300 in the sticks.

Physician compensation comprises about 10 percent of all health care spending though. For every doctor there are 16 other cats in health care, of which only 6 are involved in clinical care.

Eh, maybe not. Assuming he commissioned at 22, he would have 7 years TIS and likely be a Captain. So let's do the math...
O-3 with 7 years TIS makes $5,657.10/month in base pay ($67,885.20/year).
He'll also have BAH pay (housing), but that will depend on where he's stationed.
Let's say he's someplace in the middle of the country like Tinker in Oklahoma. He'll make an extra $1,615/month (assuming married) , taking his total to $87,253.2.
Add to this $253.63/month in BAS, and he's now at $90,296.76.
Still ~$35k off, so let's give him flight pay at $650/month for his current TIS. That brings us to $98,096.67.
Now if he's not in OK, but rather in San Diego. That changes his BAH to $3024.00/month.
With that change, he's now at $115,016.76 per year. Still lower than what he said, even putting him at one of the highest paying BAH zip codes. Only thing I can think of is that he has some other incentive pays coming (maybe he's an AF dentist or lawyer, two of the incentive positions).

4th year salary (not including bonus) at most large firms is 235. Most people don't much enjoy these jobs. Out of my starting class, only one is still working at the firm, and I know that she's actively looking for government jobs.
Computer programmer, WA.
96k teaching
10k tutoring
Doctor, Canada, early 30s.
Paid for 8 years of school (4 in med).
Was paid 50-70K increasing over several years of residency.
Over 300K in first year of practice this year.
$195k - TV/Digital Advertising Sales
33 yrs old.
Been doing it for 10 years. Started off at 64k year 1, have been over 100k every year since. Over 150k since 2011.
All depends on compensation plans. They change yearly, which sucks.

This offer is good for any sales professional from NY through Georgia.
I work for the Federal Government.
Income: $100,926
I see roughly $62,000
I also got the wonderful gift of owing money this year. So enjoy being broke because when you are smack dab in the middle you get F%^#ed
The grass is not much greener making six figures these days. Unless you are making $250,000 to $500,000 you will still suffer.
