Impressed with Kate Grace, Austin Tamagno, and Jackson Mestler. Solid results for Jenkins and Centro and Hassan. Slightly disappointing results for Alexa Efraimson and Grace Ping.

How was Ping's effort a disappointment to you?

Conversion says she should have run faster based on her 16:36 road 5k. She was still only a couple seconds off the world record.

Oh idk, she crushed Kate Murphy at NXN and now Kate Murphy is running 30 seconds faster in a 3k (where Kate's wheels don't even give her that much of an advantage). I expected more given her strong performance at NXN and her 16:36.

+1
He must not realize she is a 13-year-old 8th grader. And that she holds FOUR single age World Records. And that her time is on par with her 5k PR.

OK but how many 13 year old girls are really vying for the 3k indoor wr, and are getting the chance of running in a very competitive race? Seems like it might be a soft record. Yes, 9:43 is insane for a 13 year old, but maybe not so insane for Grace Ping.
you guys keep squabbling about a middle-school girl, when you ignore the ONLY RUNNER WHO MATTERS
is jamin update? he's from seattle so surely he must've been in this meet

Compared to the outdoor record, it is soft. 941 to 927.
Jordan Hasay ran 935 at usatf 13-14 but she was probably 14.
Where was Kim Conley? DNS,DNF?
It is not her first 3,000.
Kate ran 8:56 at the UW meet 3 years ago.
Sorry 8:55
The 2017 UW Indoor Preview is in the books. The big news was 800 Olympic finalist Kate Grace took down Sifan Hassan in the women's 3000 with a stadium record 8:47.26 in Grace's first-ever 3000 as 8th grader Grace Ping ran 9:43.31. In men's action, the Nike Oregon Project dominated as Eric Jenkins won the mile (3:58.68) and 1000 (2:23.95) and Olympic 1500 gold medallist Matthew Centrowitz destroyed everyone in the 3000 with his 7:49.89 as he was the only man under 8:00.
You'll see the results for the top heat of the men's and women's 600, 800, 1000, mile, and 3000 below.

Maybe, maybe not.
She has about 10 seconds to shave off her 1500m PB, a few world championship medals and a few American Records to achieve before earning that distinction.
