I know he isn't that big of a deal or anything - never at a P5 but didn't Jack Daniels coach at a SUNY school?
Yes Jack coached at SUNY Cortland. No it is not P5 but he did also coach at Texas which is P5. Jack also did ex phys for Athletics West/Nike back in the day.
haha!
Dale Kennedy at Montana State is going to retire this summer. Any chance the MSU Billings coach is leaving to take over Dale's job?
Head Coach of Men's Track and Field/Cross Country
Amherst College
I thought Amherst College did this search a month ago? No qualified candidates?

Incorrect.
So my question is, when will the job vacancies really start to happen? I've heard between May-June.
Especially the Divison 1 mid-major and power 5 positions? All that is being posted right now is either naia, D2/D3, part time, or unknown university positions.
Seems that most Power 5 openings are all done via reference or an interest gauging phone call. You don't see too many of those being posted. Now with mid-majors, there will start to see more postings come mid May after the conference meets have completed.
D2 postings will start happening more over the next couple weeks as only a couple conferences host conference meets beyond the end of the school year.
My mistake. I stand corrected.
so who does fowler keep on staff and who does she let go?

Grimes will probably be let go; no need for two female throws coaches.
Zola will probably be let go too; too much aid tied up in S.A. Distance runners
The word I heard from my AD Coastal is cleaning house the week after their Conference Championship. Their bringing in a whole new staff.
How many times did the Alabama women's team finish in top 3 in the SEC Track meet under Fowler ? ( did they have enough funding ??!)
You are noticing this correctly as D2, D3 and NAIA make up the vast majority of colleges competing in track or cross country.
P5 or Mid Major < D2, D3, NAIA, All-other "D1", JUCO, etc.
Most of the jobs that you will see posted ARE NOT going to be P5 or mid-major. Also, 9 times out of 10 when you see those postings they are spoken for and posted to jump through the HR hoops. If you want to work at one of these schools then I suggest that you start working on your accolades and networking so that people notice you.

I have heard from some folks around Coastal is they Zola was be take over as the Head XC coach. Should be interesting. Coach Fowler under achieved at Alabama, as well as Michigan in my opinion. Congrats to her in getting the job and I wish the program well. Coastal is a school on the move with baseball and football getting better. The AD is fling a great job there.
I dont know much about her alabama days but i would say that she underachieved at michigan. The fact i do not know about her alabama days probably means underperfromance there aswell.
Minnesota State Head Coach is out the day after they post a GA Position for his event groups. Anyone know what all happened? Or he just taking a bigger position somewhere else?

Only thing I saw was the AP transaction note:
MINNESOTA STATE-MANKATO — Announced the resignation of men’s and women’s track and field coach Jim Dilling at the end of the season.
All these jobs opening up but does anyone still even want to coach?
