Keep it up. More Trump voters in 2020.
Most people on LetsRun.com are educated. We have an upper income college demographic.
The official who I voted for thread showed more supporters of Hillary than anyone else. Someone could be conservative and still vote for Hillary but here are the numbres:
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=7845857&page=14
If the people were counting correctly:
Clinton - 118
Trump - 79
Johnson - 13
McMullin - 6
Stein - 5
Maturen - 1
The day of the election and the day after in the google surveys we asked "who did you vote for?" Trump, Hillary, Other
HIllary was #1, Other #2, Trump #3
I think your premise is wrong. You say, "anywhere where people are interested In health/fitness, and its overwhelmingly educated open minded people" and seem to imply that conservative people can't be into health/fitness or educated and open minded.

Let's play "find-the-hypocrisy".
I'm an academic whose university-related friends are almost all liberal, and I find that the various running communities with which I interact are very interesting precisely because so many of them are completely on the other end of the political spectrum. LetsRun may be a bit extreme but it's not out of line with the membership of my local running club. The LetsRun crowd is predominantly male and, I am guessing, predominantly white, but also reasonably well educated (i.e. most folks on this forum appear to have attended college). So unlike many of my academic colleagues, I was not shocked when Trump won. I had a pretty good idea that he has lots of supporters outside the stereotypical uneducated rural white male demographic.
Yes, the left is very open minded.
As long as you think the same as you do, they are cool with it.
Conservatives generally don't go to Whole Foods, by the way, because they are smart enough to know that you are simply overpaying for average quality food. Dumb people shop there in droves because they think it makes them appear "open minded".
Does make me wonder though - how do you know about all the other people at your "athletic club" (hardeeharhar) and Whole Foods? What do you do, go around polling everyone in sight about their beliefs? You must be a real treat to be around.
Oooohhh, wait... I see... you are one of those who simply assumes things about the people they see based on appearences.
You are nothing but a bigot.
Did you used to post here under the moniker "ConfusedMidwesterner"?

Please stop. If I'm right in assuming you're a democrat, then statements like this are only screwing up your (and my) party. You imply that "non-conservatives" are "educated open minded people", when in reality, we are not. Yes, a very large portion of us are educated and open-minded, but a huge portion of self-proclaimed liberals also behave like the worst of Trump's supporters.
Independents aren't blind to this. When they see videos circulating that show "progressive" college students rioting to force a school to cancel a speaker they disagree with, or change the name of a BUILDING of all things, they take note.
We lost the House, the Senate, and the Presidency because we've effectively demonstrated that we are NOT open-minded people. You cannot claim to be open-minded while actively villifying entire demographics, and then expect to be taken seriously. Before the election, we had "progressives" who were out in the streets screaming against white men, men, white women, "white feminism", the entirety of the fossil fuel industry, "big business", the pharmaceutical industry, comedians, all police officers, minorities who did not actively support BLM, and anyone who claimed to be voting for a third party.
Now, following the election, we have these same people out in the streets demanding impeachment (despite Trump not even being in office yet), and the elimination of the electoral college. People don't see this and think of it as being "open-minded", and the fact that this is being associated with the Democrats as a whole is going to be horrible in the long run if something isn't corrected soon.
Half the party being blind to this isn't helping, and neither are democrats and liberals who state "oh, we're very open-minded" while ignoring the fact that we harbor some of the least open-minded people on the planet.

I have waited 30 years to see something like this coming from the left... and I'm not joking. If this kind of wisdom could catch fire on the left, then there really would be some hope that we could find common ground and finally "get along" with each other.
wejo, you seem to be the most adult of the LRC leadership and I respect that. I don't expect any sort of reconciliation at the message board level, but do hope the country moves forward and positively with the new direction, as decided by this election. Did a tally the first 4-5 pages of the 'who are you going to vote for' thread (came out a couple days before the election), and it's hard to discern some because of trolling (tending to be conservative, making fun of whomever or whatever) but it was fairly close, something like 21 Clinton and 19 Trump, or 21 and 20 respectively. I think that there are a handful of very vociferous and prolific trolls that are very conservative, so it seems that this place is 70-80% conservative when actually it's probably closer to 50-50. The moderating does appear to be biased.

But you have to admit that you like that he slipped in the condescending phrase "worst of trumps supporters." That'll get a few more votes for trump from the deplorables.

I resisted the temptation to correct the small mistakes to embrace the larger message. :)

Tis true. Always surprises me that we don't see a meteoric rise from a third party candidate who can speak to the middle and galvanize the electorate against the fringe elements on either side of the political spectrum. Easy access to social media should be able to overcome the control of the major parties.
I'm not suggesting Letsrun is more full of more conservatives than liberals, but with that many Mcmullin voters in such a small sample, I think it's safe to say that there are more never-Trumpers than in the general population.

Being conservative or liberal has nothing to do with do with being open minded. Both sides are guilty of this. Both sides are also guilty of name calling and discrimination in various forms. The running community needs to move behind that and show to the rest of america how to get along together.

Honest question: How do you know your demographic?

Well, the political threads that are allowed to stay up for several hours and the editing done in the big political thread indicate otherwise.
You don't see what people posting here are seeing. A obvious bias to conservative threads and bias against non-conservative posts.

Seriously?
The fact that Jamin in 2016 has started 4 posts about running, 11 about women, 7 on miscellaneous topics and 1357 on conservative political issues in his and other names may skew how you perceive this site.

Thank you Seyta. Since the neo-liberal movement of the 1990s, the Democratic party has had the intellectual and civil higher ground on the Republican party. The progressive movement of my generation is rapidly ceding that...

I really hope that your can shut up with your victim mentality now that Trump is elected and the Congress is republican.
Reading about how emotionally abused you've been one would think you're a black man in the 50's.
Can you promise to stop whining about how political correctness is burning your house down and lynching you wife and take accountability for your own shortcoming now?
Probably not.
