Wonder if he can break 10 for the 2 mile PFT? Fastest I ever saw anyone run it was 10:15 from a kid that had just come off spring track and straight to basic training.

Seen 8:25 3k, 51m 10 mile. Not sure what he did on the PT test.
Smart move. Being a Iphone/Mac IT militia guy pays well.
WINDOWS 10 PHONE FTW!
All I can say about the "missus"is " Wow!"
I agree. His wife is pretty "Civil War" hot. He has fun.
Didn't a couple Army guys make our Olympic team in the distance races?

I hope he gets paid well enough to keep her in makeup...
Why though?

I ran 10:17 and on a dirt track, which was the best in my company, but there were guys in another companies who were faster than me. I knew guys who ran 15 single digits in 5k road races, I am sure those guys were capable of running sub-10 in a 2-mile.
For us older Vets
One Station Unit Training, sometimes referred to as One Site Unit Training, is a term used by the United States Army to refer to a training program in which recruits remain with the same unit for both Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Immediately following Basic Training, the unit seamlessly transforms from a BCT unit into an AIT unit. There is no relocation and the same Drill Sergeants who conducted the Basic Training continue to instruct all of the participating recruits in their Advanced Individual Training. This streamlines the training schedule and helps to produce more camaraderie between recruits. There are a variety of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) and training stations that have OSUT training. 11B or 11X (Infantry) at Fort Benning, Georgia follows an OSUT program. 12B (Combat Engineer), 12C (Bridge Crewmember), and 31B (Military Police) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri all follow an OSUT program. Both 19K (M1 Abrams Crewman) and 19D (Cavalry Scout), taught at Fort Benning, Georgia follow OSUT programs.
Why yes, yes they did.
Thanks. Us civilians don't know what all them acronyms mean.
Just looked at the picture and put that together with OSUT--he enlisted?
Is there some benefit he could be seeking that is enlisted rather than officer?
I'm not familiar with the Army side of things, but it seems like (esp. at his age) coming in as an officer would allow him a better career and to provide for his family more easily. Going enlisted at ~30 years old just doesn't seem to make sense (or at all if you've picked up a degree).
Thank you for the cut & paste.
What is Josh's motivation for joining the U.S. Army?
it makes sense if you are underemployed, have outstanding student loans, and could possibly collect a 1/2 pay pension after 20 years. I did 4 year enlistment out of high school and not a day goes by i am not kicking myself for leaving the service, especially after i passed what would have been my 20 year mark. There were plenty of enlisted guys who were college grads (mostly liberal arts) in my technical specialty.
