No, it's your perspective that has changed, not Obama's. He's made this speech many times.

If they get bounced after the first term they practice a scorched earth transition of power.
There was a long-held tradition of former presidents never criticizing their successors. Jimmy Carter (the worst president ever) put that tradition to rest. He was a very spiteful old fart.
Obama and his minions just spent 8 years throwing Bush under the bus.
Obama and the democrats are very amiable now that they no longer control the presidency, the house, the senate and soon the supreme court. They are all willing to work with the president now that they have no power of their own.
I'll probably get mocked, but what the hell...
Comments like this are what got Trump elected. You can't have any kind of reasonable discussion on any remotely-political topic without clowns like you hurling random, off-topic insults. Criticize Obama...there's certainly plenty of material there. Be animated about it. Same for Trump. But for the love of God, grow up and learn how to have an adult conversation.

Don't forget the Golden Thrones. All paid for by taxpayers and replaced with the old stuff when he gets impeached.
Why was the original post moderated away?
I suddenly remembered why I left lrc half a year ago. (Just came back to see the lrc libs cry and whine...)
Factually false. Go find the letter H.W. left for Clinton before leaving the Oval Office.

I actually agree with this. It is time for the USA to draw back from the world, stop trying to defend Europe and all the other so-called "allies" that we have (had?) around the world, and just focus on the USA for a while.
Time for us to get disciplined, and focused, and develop some humility about our place in the world. We really have everything we need right here.
Just please - rest of the world - just please promise to keep your next world war to yourselves. Don't come running asking for help from us next time.

We can only hope Trump will do the same thing......
Nothing I've seen from Trump indicates that will be the case...

He was pretty gracious to Hillary in his acceptance speech on the night of the election.
But keep your head in the sand, you wouldn't want to change your opinions.
Bush threw the country under the bus. Expect even worse now.

...because the US has been a paragon of peaceful, non interventionist, non empire building for the 70 years after WW2?!
The US has got what, 350,000 military personal based overseas? You've built your position as the world's policeman, don't be surprised when the world expects you to do something.
Oh and I expect you'll all be fine with halving the size of your military, now that you're just going to look after yourself? That's a winning campaign position right there...
Friends, the rest of the world thinks you're bananas. you've just replaced an considerate, educated, articulate man with the polar opposite. We'd enjoy watching you reap what you sow from afar, but unfortunately we're all in this together, so we're all getting screwed.
