I don't think Mottram would beat a field with Abdi, Chisholm, Fountain et al in their top shape over 1500m. He aint got a kick like these guys
2004 world cross long race teams, AUS 5th, USA ????? not even top ten I don't think.... Small example I know, but the Aussies weren't slaughtered there....
In world rankings for Men Australlia have a grand total of 2448 points in the top 50 of any distance event.
USA have a total of 17766 in the distance events.
Sorry Aussies this is one sport you are so far away from
dominating its emabarrasing!!
