In the New England states like Maine, RI, NH, Vermont, I don't get it. It's cold, there is no economic growth there, the biggest industry is healthcare because of all the old people, there is no diversity pretty much old waspy white people, housing is way over priced, and the people are jerks.
WOW! Where do I even begin?
Please read a book. Actually wait, go back to college or perhaps turn on the news. Its terrifying to see how utter,y delusional someone is when it comes to VT's Economy. Oy vey.
Southern VT has closed 3 large hospitals in less than 3 years. After the 3 closed SMCS became the backbone of all of Southern VT and they filed for bankruptcy two months ago. We are now limited to two general 25 patient bed hospitals across 8 counties. So please educate me on how you came up with HEALTH CARE is the biggest industry " Health Care?!! Health Care is the biggest industry? “Because of all the old people?” VT ranks 47 ion the list n terms of Heath care. 50 is the lowest.
Where do you get your information?
Do you even know where VT is?
Are you aware that its a state? Do you know about the major issues surrounding rural hospitals across the country?
Do you know why they’re all closing? I’m going to go ahead and answer with “No”.
See Below:
Agriculture is #1 followed by a close second which is Travel & Tourism. Travel and tourism accounted for 2.8 billion $$$ in revenue in 2018.
Travel & Tourism also accounted for 13.1 million visitors in 2018. The tourism industry supports 33,000 jobs which is roughly 10% of the population. Wages from those jobs are $105 billion aka 61%, of all income earned in the state. Economic activity in the accommodations sector generates 3 times more revenue than the average state in America.
Then we have tourism taxes....
VT INCOME TAX MEALS & ROOMS TAX.
ROOMS MEALS ALCOHOL SALES TAX.
PROPERTY TAX (ED FUND).
PROPERTY TAX (LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT).
GASOLINE TAX.
TOTAL: 391 Million
Now you were saying something about healthcare? What was it again?
PS Please prove me wrong. Show me the facts that support your ludicrous statements. I’d love to see them.
oh and btw- WASP stands forWhite Anglo Saxon Protestant. WASPS are elite socialites who live in prominent $$$$ communities, not VT.
