I used to use Amazon about once every month or two when free shipping started at $25. Now that it is $50 I only do a couple orders at Christmas time. I'm wondering if others have also stopped or if most just pay for prime.
The $90 a year for Prime pays off for me in spades. I live 45min from a big box store and local Ace Hardware and Kroger are very limited in scope. Couple that daily reality with Christmas/Birthday gifts needing to go to other states at the last minute and Prime is huge.
Of note, I often select slow shipping for shyt I don't need immediately. I think it's good to balance out the 2-day shipping mentality and expectation with normal wait times.
I'm assuming many of the dolts who complain about the ads on Letsrun are also those without Prime and wondering why people like Amazon so much. Do you really think you spend less than $90 in gas in a year, driving store to store, when you could just stay at home and have the item ordered in 30sec and see it in two days? And you cretins keep saying millennials are the waste of our society???
