Very deep stuff there. Subtle as well as deep thoughts and concepts wrapped into glorious instrumentals weaved into an unforgettable tapestry.
Listen to the new Mudcrutch release.

Southeastern is his best work, by far.
DBT were solid, when he was with them ... Danko is an awesome tune. But their stuff isn't close to as considered and rounded as his solo work, particularly Southeastern,

Apart from not being a TW song you even have the title wrong.
Yeah, that's George Harrison solo career.
I heard that before he was solo and in the Traveling Wilburys he was in some other band.

..compounded by an inability to spell correctly. The "group" was known to the world as the Traveling Wilburys, or Wilburys.

Here's another shout out to Jason Isbell. And I, too, like his solo work better than the DBT.
"Who Let The Dogs Out"

I have never heard of Isbell or the Drive-by Truckers. This is an indictment of me, not him or them. But if you think they are the best band in 30 years I would like to know what song(s)/cd you suggest I start with?
Start with The Dirty South! That's the album that got me hooked on the DBT. Such a good album. Some individual songs to check out: Where the Devil Don't Stay, Goddamn Lonely Love, Puttin' People on the Moon, Zip City, Fourth Night of my Drinking, After the Scene Dies, First Air of Autumn, Decoration Day, Goode's Field Road, Sinkhole, Never Gonna Change. Off the top of my head, that's all I've got.
In terms of Isbell solo work, his last two albums (Southeastern and Something More Than Free) have been fantastic. Southeastern is definitely the darker of the two. Listen to Codeine, Alabama Pines, Elephant, Cover Me Up, Palmetto Rose, Children of Children, Songs That She Sang in the Shower, Relatively Easy.
If you ever get the chance to see either of these artists live, DO IT. I saw DBT in 2013 and Isbell this February and they were both excellent. I give Isbell the edge live, though.

Bohemian Rhapsody
There will never be another song that is played live by a more diverse group of artists (Panic at the Disco, Pink, Zach Brown Band, Beyonce, even Kanye West, etc.) with a near total acknowledgement of its greatness as evidenced by the entire audience actively participating in singing along, often louder than the actual hits of the band. There was a youtube clip of almost the entire audience singing along with it while it was played as background music between artists at a Green Day concert.
"Never" is a long time Ted.
Probably something by Schumann.
No that's not true, Grieg wrote some good ones. Faure wrote some good songs, too. And even later still, Poulenc maybe.
But after that? Schoenberg, Webern?
I think the last good songs are the Silent Songs by Valentin Silvestrov. Not breaking any new ground, but theyre so beautiful. So, that's somewhere in the 1970's.
Perhaps, but until then, the crown on my head for being the most right is awfully shiny.

Stewie "Susie".
Brian: [sarcastically] Wow, a song named after a girl. There aren't a million of those already.
Stewie: [annoyed] Name twenty!
Brian: "Rosanna", "Roxanne", "Michelle", "Allison", "Sarah", "Angie", "Brandy", "Mandy", "Gloria", "Cecilia", "Maggie May", "Jessica", "Nancy", "Barbara Ann", "Billie Jean", "Layla", "Lola", "Polly", "Helena", "Jenny from the Block".
Stewie: Name six more.
Brian: "Sherry", "Laura", "Wendy", "Maria", "Peggy Sue", "Minnie the Moocher".
Stewie: Name five more.
Brian: "Tracy", "Jean", "Jane", "Mary Ann", "Eleanor Rigby".
[Short pause; Stewie then throws his guitar on the floor and walks out]
Stewie: Go f*ck yourself.
lolol I love Family Guy.
I actually recognize the majority of those... not a chance I could come up with a third of them on my own...
Forgot Melissa
and black Betty. Heck there are probably dozens more.

Apple spellcheck says Wilburies. Take it up with Mr Cook.
Of course, it is frozen in the mid 1990s at the end of the original period in the grunge movement.
Your generation may say something different.
And there have been some good songs since then, but the extremely popular music has been even more awful than usual and I have been shocked by the sappy sentimental pap that this generation laps up.
The song you're looking for is called "Don't Know Why."
