No one but the stupidest bettor alive would place $100 on each bet, irrespective of its value.
You have to size the best according to conviction.
Did you guys bet on your picks?
Rojo just made a public bet on here and bailed in the next post since he didn't have the resources.
Do you guys also claim to have picked winning lottery numbers despite not purchasing a ticket?
After reading the article shouldn't the subject line say that you are experts when it comes to predicting 800 through Steeple but basically suck at everything else?
Sprints/Hurdles: $-175
800/1500: $1900
Steeple-Marathon: $450
Jumps: $-400
Throws: $-100
Mult: $10
So if you ignored the jumps/throws/mult (as you should as LetsRun.Com), then you'd have even made more.
And how did you lose $100 when only betting $10?
Desi Linden: We think these odds make it fun to put down $10 if you are American
This. You made most of it on three events and the Steeple and Centro were pretty obvious. So I wouldn't quit your day job. Oh wait...

But you didn't make any bets, so it's typical LRC bs saying you called everything first and such.
Mildly entertaining, but more reason to not take you seriously.
You guy know what you're talking about with Americans but you were too late to the party when looking at the odds. Most of the best odds available in the few months before - although being in UK I had a good list of options.
Some of your race previews without strong American presence were quite wide of the mark as well, so lucky you didn't bet on them!
Some of my highlights from Rio include: Christoph Harting at 50/1, Jebet at 67/1, Semenya at 2/1 and Dalilah at 50/1. They were all months before the Olympics, My favorite though was Vivian in the 5k at 140/1, 10 mins before the race - crazy!! (unfortunately this was on the exchange and I only got a small amount of my stake matched)
On the flip side I was way too confident with Tori Bowie, Biwott and Kamworor (I want to believe he has been ill/bad training since world halfs but I probably overpivoted to that performance). Their relative performances were the biggest shocks to me. Anyone know what happened with Kam in the lead up to Olys?
My most frustrating bet was definitely on Botswana 4x400, because I really think if Thebe wasn't injured I think they might have won at 90/1, certainly they would have been top 3 at 17/1.
Athletics and swimming betting is interesting because the luck factor is much lower than most sports. Just a shame that no one cares about it so you can't really bet a lot.
But anyway, thanks for the thoughtful previews they are of a good standard for the mid d events.
Dude, your bets sound amazing. How much did you make?
How much can you bet? What's the limit?
Can you email me those details
