I have a scar on my right leg that commemorates my first 100 mile week.
The last day of the week was a 22 mile long run that consisted of 16 miles of marathon pace (4 warm up, 16 MP, 2 cool down). The day was abnormally warm for the time of year and a rain storm came and went about mid way through the run. Just before mile 19, the trail made a sharp left curve onto a wooden bridge. I slipped and fell (I was trying to run 5:35s at the time) and scraped my back horribly. I got up after lying on the ground and wanting to quit for a few seconds and finished out that mile in 6:12 or so. Then the last hard mile I clicked off a 5:25 and then cruised the last two miles. After I finished, waiting for my training partner, I noticed a steady stream of blood flowing from an open gash at the top of my right shin. An hour later I was in the ER getting sutured. The scar is the one I am most proud of. As I figured out later that evening, the accident came right at the end of my 100th mile of the week, my first 100 mile week ever.
