Those names are a very small sample for USA T&F athletes, and Carl Lewis was never "proven" to taking "Performance enhancers".

Obviously Felix isn't the only hope for american gold on the track, because there are legitimate gold chances in:
- Men's 200m
- Men's 110m hurdles
- Women's 100m hurdles
- Men's steeple
There is also a small chance of american gold in:
- Women's 200m
- Women's 400m hurdles
I'm not sure why you are ignoring field, but I stuck to track to make you feel better.
Mens 200? HAHA
It's a small sample because it's the very best USA 100m runners and they were all implicated in something or the other. Carl Lewis admitted to failing 3 tests which were covered up by the USATF.

Jager is a strong medal contender and has a slim chance at gold of course, but pretending that he's got as good a chance as anyone is silly. Kemboi has won 5 global titles in a row and has never finished below 2nd since 2003!!
He's gonna win again man.

Um, yes he was
Track and Field consists of other events than the 100 meter sprint.
Dafne will drop a 21.5x 200m final time an beat everybody. Elaine will drop a 21.6x again. I don't care about the rest of them at all.

It doesn't say AND field.
T&F athletes are on the TRACK team, not on the FIELD team.
You are so stoopid, Star.
no,the women hurdlers could win,and probably will.usa could win the mens hurdles as well, and americans are always ones to watch in those events.

Top 3 men of 2016 in the 200m are Gatlin, Merritt, and Webb. All three are Americans. All three are competing in the 200m in Rio. So I think it is quite reasonable to say that there is a chance for gold in the men's 200m for USA.
I do think that Bolt with get gold, but I'm saying there is a reasonable chance for American gold. I'm not sure why your reaction would be "HAHA" to that statement.

Bolt's strongest event is the deuce, and his coach thinks he's better at the 4 than the 1. Gatlin is primarily a 100 runner whose strength is his start, LaShawn is a 400 runner dabbling in the 200 because he opened fast, and I'm sure Webb's a great guy but he's not touching 19.5.
The four hurdle events are the answer, though the USA men didn't look great in R1 of the 400H. I'd say Bowie has a slightly better chance in the 200 than the men. Gold is highly unlikely in other running events. Medal chances in M800, both 15s...

LOL.

Sad that Felix (who seems to have been representing the US since the 80's) may be the only non-relay hope for gold.
You should stop posting on here.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but Jager hasn't yet shown that he can close a championship steeple in around 57 seconds, about what Kemboi is likely to do. Now if Conseslus really goes for it and Jager goes with him in a sub 8 race, then I don't know what happens. Kemboi makes it difficult to judge his capabilities by almost never performing well except in slower championships, where he always closes like a madman.
The US distance women may not be willing gold medals but are having a great meet.
- 6,7, 9 in marathon
American record in 10,000
3 made finals in steeple and American record
2 in finals in the 1500
Galen Rupp in the marathon.
The USA is a declining power in sport and only has such a high medal count due to ridiculously absurd permutations of swimming.
Allyson Felix could not get it done but Brianna Rollins looks good tonight.
