My initial thoughts:
1. Dissapointment.
2. DOPED as F**K
Everyone knows that Wanh Ju Xia world record is a 100% doped record. That she smashed it by 20 seconds?
100% chance of doping for Almaz Ayana.
What a bummer!
How are the commentators not commenting on this?
Who is her coach?
We know Dibabas coach is dirty. What is the chance that that Almaz' coach is dirty?
What are commentators supposed to say until she's caught? I know track is always under suspicion, but what to do in this circumstance. It was an exciting race, fantastic. Yes, there's a good chance the winner could be doping. But, again, until that's proven, I can still enjoy this.
I was watching that last lap and thought she'd be close to the WR and then it dawned on me in the backstretch that she was going to crush it. Lol. And, honestly, as other have stated, she looked like she could have run another two miles comfortably.
Better running through chemicals. Man I wish Track and Feel would find a way to clean up the sport

Finally, the last thing I’ll say to the people who don’t believe in running, the cynics and the sceptics: I'm sorry for you. I’m sorry that you can’t dream big. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles. But this is one hell of a race. This is a great sporting event and you should stand around and believe it. You should believe in these athletes, and you should believe in these people. I'll be a fan of the Olympics for as long as I live. And there are no secrets — this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it. So Vive le Rio forever![/quote]
That was insane. Great running. Lets hope it was all clean.
Ayana is seriously juicing. I have never seen anything like this in my life. She has never put up anything like this, and she just started running at 10,000. She was in men's territory, and she mashed a doped up record, and didn't even break a sweat, and wasn't even close to being tired....and all the other runners ran the race of their lives trying to keep up, and damn near died at the finish line.
There she goes: the dopest Ethiopian
For the record, according to weather.com, it was Cloudy, 66 degrees F, 83% humidity at the finish. A little muggy, but not atrocious.

So her 14:11 for 5000m is nothing like this? I would disagree.
First of all, you don't know if she's juicing. She has a perfect body type for the 10K. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. By the way, is Huddle juicing???

Where was Huddle, by the way?
Molly Huddle lost. I guess she never tried hard enough. Maybe in 2020 she will decide to work harder
In all likelihood, probably one half of all of these Olympic athletes are doping regardless of the sport .
you cannot conclude like this. All the athletes knew that the race is going to be very fast. and this is how they prepared & it is very expected they run this superb time.
Almaz Ayana must weigh about 60 pounds. one of the reasons she was able to fly around the track like that
That's at 5,000 meters....A runner clearly tapers off as the mileage goes up. Her last 10,000 meter race wasn't even close to this. without the lapped runners in her way, she could have put up something around 28 mins. The world record in the men's 10000 is like 26 mins...come on, man. seriously. She was in the men's territory with her running.
I seem to remember him making some pretty definite statements regarding this race...
How did Jill Greathouse do?
she ended up running the American Record and the best race of her life couldn\'t have asked for anymore. you seem to be the \"foolish\" nimrod
That 4-across slow-poke pack at the end when the leaders were coming in was bush league.
