Centro is "normal" for a pro in that he drinks beer right?
You'd think if Centro were motivated he could run better than 4:34.
Kiprop at 104 pounds would be shit housed drunk and swerve onto then over the rail and get deeq'd.
Hard to say how beer while running would affect Makhloufi's cycle.

It all comes down to how quickly you can chug after running and whether you can handle the beer in your stomach with the running. Who knows if any of the top milers could actually run a fast beer mile.
I think these guys doing the beer mile now are also doing some specific training that would conflict with training as an elite miler.
I think the gap in running ability for Belllemore would likely be insignificant when compared to a guy like Centro when you think about how easily he puts that beer down.

It is obvious that he would beat the Swedes, the Scots, the Belgians, the Brits (double obvious), and the Americans.
It is not at all obvious that he would beat the Aussies.
I thought it would be obvious that this would be an event that the Irish could finally do well in... and possibly even dominate.
I was wrong again.
Once again…it is another Irish Beer Mile Debacle™.
(It was just like all the other previous Irish Beer Miles... and the Ultramarathons they always seem to turn into.)

I think embarrassment to the sport is harsh. Although I think to a certain extent the seriousness they are approaching it with is over the top. The beer mile to me was a fun thing to get the team together to do at the end of a college season to celebrate. It was more a spur of the moment type event which is what made it fun. This level of seriousness and flying around the world to compete in it is getting ridiculous.

The beer mile is a breath of fresh air when compared to the corruption and PED use endemic to the elite track scene.
It is less of an embarrassment to the sport than allowing genetic males to compete in the women's division or blade runners to compete against able-bodied athletes.

Uptight "purists" are far worse for track than anything else. This includes doping and having fun (i.e. beer miles, or less serious HS kids playing Pokemon Go on recovery days).
Willing to bet most of these purist types are/were bitter about being slower than more lax types. 🤔
Might be interesting to speculate what guys like John Walker or Rod Dixon could have done back in the day - big, fast guys, who weren't averse to downing a few pints even during the European track season.
But Bellmore looked great doing it, way better than someone like Symmonds (a much faster 800m guy). Looks like Kent's time has come and gone, when guys this fast, who can drink, take it up.

Other than maybe one shaky transition I don't see much room for improvement there. Solid run by Bellemore! I would say he has potential for sub 430 though.
