Get back to me when you find someone like Jordan Hasay. Yawn.

No massage therapist on this trip? Isn't that what all the cool HS kids are doing these days?
That's great but the meet wasn't even at The Historic Hayward Field and I need someone to figure out how fast she could run the length of a football field for me to understand if she is fast. And how does this effect Oregon's team scoring.

Ummmm Jordan's high school 3000 PR was 9:19. 9 flat is worlds apart from 9:19.
Katie of course has had more resources at her disposal, but she is a huge talent! Way to go!
9:00 ain't no 7:20
Go Katie!! wrote:

I'd also like to be reminded of the history of the steeplechase.

true
Why does everyone on this site feel the need to demean other's incredible achievements by comparing them to nearly impossible standards?

It isn't a 1:55 either!

Finished top 10 at the World Juniors U20 Competition. Made some smart moves throughout the race. Pretty amazing time for her, Oregon is lucky to have her!
It was 9:00.62 for 5th at World Juniors today
That's a new US high school outdoor record besting Lynn Bjorklund's 9:08.6 from 1975 (set in a USA-USSR-Bulgaria meet in Kiev). Mary Cain ran 8:58.48 at World Juniors in 2014 (July after her senior year in high school; like Rainsberger), but had already turned pro. Alexa Efraimson ran 9:00.16 her senior year on an oversized indoor track. Mary Cain split 9:04.51 at 3k enroute to her 9:38.68 indoor 2-Mile US high school record
The above is not my comment.
9 flat is a great hs 3k time. Is this the 4:07 high schooler?

Trombone Sammy, I went to school with Jordan Hasay. I know Jordan Hasay. Jordan Hasay is a friend of mine. Trombone Sammy, you're no Jordan Hasay.

No, it's the NXN champ who also ran 4:12 for 1500 this season. The 4:07 girl is Kate Murphy (high school junior) who won the US Junior 3k in 9:10.51 and ran 9:17 in today's World Junior.

No, Rainsberger ran about 4:11 in the same race. That was Katie Murphy running 4:11.
(if you don't know, Rainsberger is daughter of Lisa Rainsberger, last American woman to win Boston).

The German girl in 3rd place ran 8:46. (Junior National Record.)
