Go talk to some Mormons. They will lend you a sympathetic ear and try to help you. They might try to encourage you into the Mormon ways, but you don't have to accept it.
Here are some things.
1. Go for a run.
2. Learn some cooking recipes, and make food.
3. Get a cheap phone card and call your Mom.
4. Rent some cheap videos/DVD with actors like Bean, or Robin Williams. Laugh until your side hurts.
5. Realize that you are a very priviledged person living in a rich country, and that life is too short to be depressed.
6. Communicate with others on "Letsrun.com."
cali is getting hammered by shat weather right now.
try to get some exercise, maybe hit the gym or a climbing gym.
turn up your favorite music.
rent "floundering"
xc skiing maybe a good way to mix it up. grab some skis and some tunes and rock out.
start a journal so you can get all the garbage on paper so it doesnt have to stay in your head.
maybe call up some old highschool friends and see what they are up to.
we've all been there! It gets better!

Drink your sorrows away.
Go skiing!
floudering, good call!
Vaporize some herb, I'm serious.
Pray
Make sure you get your paperwork together so you don't have to come back next fall.
Vaporize some herb, or pray? What's a guy to do?
..if it's legal herb, do both. if not legal, then you might find yourself even more depressed when you are looking out a jail cell window at the beautiful snow capped mountains of Utah.
College is a great place to be. Join some group activities and/or support groups.
My frind the worst thing you can do, is sit around and think about how depressed you are. And of all the things that you wish where diffrent in your life. If you take ANYONE, and have them do that. they will get depressed.
To me it just sounds like your away from home, somewhere that you clearly thought was going to be a somewhat diffrent. The frist time you go out there alone. You have to realize that it is really scairy, why do you think half the dumb shits, that get hammed all the time are getting hammerd?
The best thing you can do, and this will get you out of your depression is to spend time with some frinds. If you don't have any the you got to meet some. How do you do that, simple. You take your mind off your own issues, and ask someone how they are doing, what they are into, etc. Take an intrest in other people, and they will take an intrest in you. And frinds make things a good deal easyer.
Along the same lines do something that get's your body energized, like going for a run. If you can go for two, one in the Am and Pm, they don't need to be long 30 min is all they need be hell 20 mins will likely do the trick.
The most important thing I can tell you, is no matter how bad things seem at this point they will get better! Maby not as fast as you would like, but it will happen.

Spend more time on LetsRun.....this place is very beneficial and uplifting to the soul!
Go to the doctor and get some prozac.
Bigam Young? I mean Brigham Young? Do what Viren did. Go home.

That's a crock and you know it. All that Prozac types stuff is uneeded and damaging to the liver in the long run.
It probably feels like the last thing you want to be doing, but get involved with stuff, get out of your room, do things on campus, join groups like someone else said. Just get out and about, keep busy. Doing something constructive helps, then you feel like you've put your time to use and have done something.
Like last poster said, you might not feel like it, but if you can just get started once and get out and start doing, you will be much better off. Is there any ministry or helping hand opportunities there? Can you volunteer some time to a charity, church, nursing home? It is true that you will get more out of it than those you have helped............good luck on your search.
