So I am a talented runner and I am going into highschool as a freshman I want to get a bit of insight on training for highschool. 8th grade was my first year of competitive XC the distances I ran were the 4k and 2 mile. My 4k pr is 12:59. I am currently still in my track season and I will be going to nationals my track pr's are 2:08 800 ,4:37 mile 4:35 1600 ,4:18 1500 and a 9:18 3000 I am definetly looking to break my 1500 and 3000 pr's. My current training right now includes speed,intervals and base/steady runs. My coaches want me running fast at nationals so my training is focused towards track instead of xc right now. After I finish nationals what should my training be for the 5k? How many miles should I run and at what pace? Also I have never run much mileage before usually I am around 15-25 so I was wondering if I should gradually increase my mileage my goals timewise are 15:55 5k and 15:15 3 mile which I think are realistic.
