Anyone ever done the LL Bean 10k in Freeport, the 4 mile in Bridgeton or the 5k in Winthrop? Bridgeton and Winthrop look killer hilly, not so sure about the one in Freeport.

Bridgton isn't as hard as you would think. It's hilly for the first two miles, but you can really fly the last two miles. It's all down hill from 2 to the finish. never done winthrop. Freeport is the hardest in my mind (excluding winthrop since like I said, never done it). It's very hilly throughout the whole race and it's a 10k so that makes it harder than a 4 miler also. Both are great races, lots of competition at LL Bean.
Races in Maine: White people and REALLY white people.
I see that View The Race (http://viewtherace.com/races/race-vidoes) has both Bridgeton and LL Bean. I'll just flip a coin, I guess.

I've done all three. LL Bean is definitely the hardest, although sometimes it's a little cooler by the coast. Bridgton is a pain in the ass to get to and not really Central Maine by any reasonable measure. You WILL get stuck in lake traffic. Winthrop is hilly but definitely the easiest. In Bangor there is a 3k downhill race, very fast. Kennebunk has a good 5k, but that is clearly Southern Maine.
Thanks! Still a coin flip between Bridgeton and Winthrop, but Bridgeton seems like the better choice traveling wise since I'll be approaching it from E. Maine, and not through NY State and Conn. ..From what I can gather, MUCH less traffic from that direction, as the lake congestion for 2300 plus runners is much less. We'll see!
