Congrats to Colleen...at age 40 running as well as she ever has. On top of being one heck of a runner, she is also very humble, and one heck of a mom. Along with Deena, Colleen is America's best runner. A Trials Marathon win...a dominating performance in XC.

2002 Bronze Medalist, and a top 10 finish in 2003 I believe as well. A great strength runner, and former WR holder on the roads! Does not seem to be slowing down! Look for her to SHATTER all Master's records this year...Jenny Spangler will soon be a distant memory!
Yes Congrats...we havn't seen a 40 y/o run as well as Colleen since Regina Jacobs...oh wait...I mean we haven't seen this kind of performance out of a woman that age since Mary Slaney...hmm...oh well nevermind. "Congrats" Colleen!
Concur. Colleen is a great competitor and a great inspiration. For all those coaches out there who are pushing young girls to do too much too soon, Colleen is an example of why it's important to keep the long view in mind. Distance runners can be competitive well into their 30s and, now, 40s, if they live the right way.
I do believe Carmen Troncoso also made a worlds xc team as a master. Colleen's 5K record set last year (15:51?) broke Carmen's 16:02. Regina who?
Expect her to do well at World Cross...she is a GREAT XC runner. My guess as to what will happen this year...

She could break not only American records, but some Master World Records as well. Of course, many "speculate" that the Russian crew maybe on something other than just "antioxidants" as they continue to run sub 230 at age 50.
Great Run by Colleen or do the open women suck that bad? Maybe a combination of the two. If Colleen finishes in the top 15 at WC I'll galdly take this back.
Colleen was recently 7th or 8th, and in 2002 was a bronze medalist. The gal knows how to run in the muck. She's a lock for top 15.
