People say that the more you weigh, the more weight it is to carry, especially for distance running. To what extent is this true? I am 5'2 and weighed 100 pounds during XC season and I did very well in cross country. [first team all-state] I am currently training for the 2 mile and mile in track. This winter I have put on about 6-10 pounds since cross country, but have been training pretty hard for track. Maybe it is just the winter 'buldge', but I am worried that the extra pounds will make it harder to suceed in racing. How much can 10 pounds effect running? Could it make me stronger, or slower?
