That Pascuito is a nut.

also his run was superior to Rupp's
Rupp ran 25:13 only an hour or so before Withrow's race, so conditions should be comparable. If anything, the course might have been sloppier during the senior race after all the other races that had been run that weekend and morning
Withrow ran 37:32, which is 25:02 pace for 8k...
so he ran through 8k faster than Rupp and continued at that pace for another 4 k...
how fast could Rupp have gone? he looked like he could likely have another 10 seconds at least in him, but i doubt he could have gone anywhere near Matt today

Agreed that Withrow's effort was superior today... Of course, Rupp was an easy winner in his race. I think it's always difficult to rate the effort in an easy victory...
The good news is that we've got, apparently, a fine group of young - college frosh - distance men in America, led by McDougal, Rupp, and Withrow (in alpahabetical order as to not ruffle any feathers....). Let's hope that they all continue to improve and make us proud.
Very well said.
The U.S. has strung together quite a few good years of "up and coming young distance runners". That is encouraging; just maybe ..............................?????
