Ive got a nice group of kids going from indoors to outdoors. I know what to do with those who I have been training for some time in between seasons. Several sprinters are moving up, though, and I am wondering what types of things to do with them preseason and early season to make the transition into middle distance runners.
I am planning on drills, circuits, hills, and maybe some short tempo runs. Any coaches have a plan or system to introduce middle distance work for kids who have been sprinting in the past? THanks.
