We talked about his 800 in another thread last week.
But the former 400h also did the 1500. Not sure if it was the same day or not but he ran 3:57.MEN -

Brandon Johnson did the 800 and 1500 last week in Rio - guess his 1500 time

That's slower than a stampede of turtles running through molasses with glue on their feet.
-
I guessed 3:54+
Hard to run much faster than 3:45 w 45 relay capability -

Nice times for the Chileans! -
I guessed 3:41. Just 7% off.
-
3:57. Wow! That's really impressive. Converts to 3:39 or so. Just a few seconds off the OTQ.
Umm... wait a second... -
I was guessing more like 4:10 from a 400H guy.
-
Didn't stop Coe in 81!
45.6 relay/ 3:31 1500
Except that Coe wasn't a 10.4 100m man like Brandon and wasn't a 48.59 400m IH man like Brandon. The year Brandon ran 1:43.84 800m, he only ran 3:53.95 1500m (source: IAAF - http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/united-states/brandon-johnson-201298).
800m is Johnson's upper limit. -

You are right Coe had talent and didnt have to resort to competing in hurdles races -
That's actually really good for Johnson. Damn impressive. Hopefully a good sign for the Trials. I am telling you, Berian is NOT a lock. He is going to make the mistake of going out too hard and a guy like Johnson, with some speed endurance is going to catch him the final 50m, along with some other guys.
Makes me realize how much I suck at mid-distance. I ran 3:58 and am a 14:20 guy. God am I slow. -
A 357 1500 is not speed insurance for a guy who's run 143. He probably has the worst 15 of any sub 146 guy.

Two year's Ago he ran a 3:45 1500m @ Mt. Sac
Back when he was still with Morceli (Noureddine Morcelis brother) -

As usual, you pollute this site with delusional drivel.
Johnson started out as a short sprinter and hurdler in high school and college, then moved up to the 800m later. A number of top coaches are of the opinion that 400m hurdlers make excellent 800m runners. Johnson is kind of an experiment, proving this to be true.
Coe started at longer distances. Two different types of athlete.
And of course Coe always made sure his "blood was right". What kind of special procedures were employed during Coe's many blood transfusions, Mr. UK "athletics coach". -
He was in the 2nd group until the last lap. 3:42/3:46 pace. But after the bell, he fell miserably. Probably he felt something wrong in the legs, and at this point of the year, it's not the best time for injuries.
Here's his first 800m semifinal in the Rio Olympic Track. 1:46:43 (with splits on the big screen)

That's pretty good for someone who is built more for sprints. I thought, just guessing really that he would run about 4 minutes. What this shows is he's ready to run rounds. Although this is somewhat of a down year for the U.S. in the 800, Brandon is going to have to get back to being a solid 1:45 guy to have a shot at making to Rio team. -
His 1500s have been bad all year. If his 800s are fine I wouldn't worry.

Cheap and poorly disguised humble brag. May just be an LRC meme you are attempting to keep alive. Thought you should know.
