Can we just black out this meet from our memories and talk about track?

Not yet!! Just one more week then you'll get your chance.
In the midst of the St. Olaf collapse, people forgot to mention a couple of key things.
First, Jones and Knobbe finished 12th and 13th, respectively. That is a pretty solid finish for those two in their last XC races as seniors. Jones might be the last one out if Nebraska Wesleyan doesn't get in (fingers crossed that they do).
Second, nice job by Alex Berhe from Saint Olaf. He was one of the most consistent runner's on Olaf's team, and showed up when he was needed at conference (5th) and regions (15th).
Congratulations to Tris Dodge from Carleton, too. 19th is a pretty phenomenal finish. Perhaps this is the beginnings of a Dodge vs. Berhe rivalry for the next 2 years?...
Third, JOVAN GOT 6th?? I mean, he had to basically kill himself to get that spot and almost keeled over that last 200m's, but still! Good for him. One last race for him this year on the big stage.
And finally, Bugler proves once again to be a post conference stud. He was right with the top 2 guys at about 1k, and just coasted in. It's almost like he was the only one who realized that they only have 1 week to recover before nationals. Hard to have back-to-back grinding races with 1 week rest between.
I'm predicting that he follows a similar trend to Campbell, Escher, Hornor, Berens type of deal. Coast at regions, place high at nationals. I'm not saying he is going to place top 15, but I also wouldn't be surprised.
Looking at pictures from the race while also watching the finish, Coffey really went backwards that last 1k or so. He was not too far behind Trope, Jensen, Bugler, and Lindquist going up that last hill before the long finish, yet he finished about 23rd..rough.
Let's hope that this was an isolated incident and he rebounds for nationals. He has shown the ability to beat big names earlier in the year, so he just needs to show up.
As for Bugler, he is absolutely my pick to finish the highest out of our region. He just peaks so well. This is eerily similar to track. Plus, he has beaten Shultz and Borash and other notable names this season, and finished not too far behind Lau on two occasions.
These performances don't mean much considering they were a while back, but I think we all know that Bugler (as well as Coffey when he is running well) can run with any of the top 4-10 ranked guys in the nation.
Also, I think Jovan, if he can have another solid race, can snag an All American spot as well.
so some teammates of mine told me a while back that my vid of MIAC was posted on here - that's pretty cool. since some of you liked it, i have a vid of the regional race too to offer.

i'll let you all make your own judgements of the race itself. no fast-forwarding this time though, no siree
0/10 Can't fool me. That's meatspin right there.

Worst vid I've seen in a long time. This shit makes Flotrack look like Universal Pictures or something. Music with a running video? Bad choice. Also panning to follow the runners was a rookie mistake. After watching I sat through 2 hrs of meatspin.fr just to get the visual memory of that video out of my head
Bugler's form had me squirting.
Will watch again tonight.
10/10
Video is much too long, Fast forwarding through slow parts would really help this video out. Music choice is subpar. Really, a remix of riptide? The sound of silence would have been much better. Worst of all was the terrible camera angles. But overall, kudos on another 3.5 star video.
Totally, who likes music in running videos? I prefer silence, where the only thing audible is the wind fondling the grossly greased up long hair of the athletes and the erotic groans and heavy breathing of men 6K in. Really gets me going you know
"here let me post a video so people can see themselves/friends during the race."
Normal response: "oh, thanks, not often I get to see myself run! You totally didn't have to do that!"
Letsrun response: "dude, screw you. That was horrible. Music sucked, terrible cinematography. Did you film it on your phone or something? Didn't even do any special effects to put rockets on Bugler's spikes?"

Well that would be disconcerting to people who accept criticism from a guy who called himself "St. Cuck".
I, once again, genuinely enjoyed this.
I appreciate the Ole cross country team for putting up these videos and for the user who posted it on this page.
Really, though, how often do we get to see ourselves racing? It isn't like we are a big name or big budgeted conference or region that has professionals film or take pictures at every one of our races. Things like this are a nice gesture, even if it focuses solely on one team.
Natties predictions for our sparse MIAC squad?
Most of them will finish the race. That's about it.

Spot on!
All but Bugler. Unfortunately he got tripped twice in the first 2 miles. Second time going down he got kneed in the back of the head and got a concussion. DNF.
Gotta feel for him, especially with the Luther kid getting 10th and Coffey getting like 25th. Have to imagine he would have at least been around there.

Now they know who to beat him in track-- push him down and knee him in the back of the head.
