I meant I wear flip-flops even in winter. It's a real conversation starter. But it's also the case that I run from my front door 95% of the time "even in winter".
About needing variety on the runs -- nope. Change is nice, but for me repetition is not boring. The important thing is does the route fit the purpose for that day's run. When the roads were real icy I have done 3 hour long runs on a treadmill. When injured I have done the same rinky-dink out-and-back for 20 days straight. It's all good.
I used to drive to the trail for my runs. (Same trail every time, LOL.) I found that sitting in the car afterwards did bad things to my hamstrings, and eventually to my back.
