Emailing college coaches for training advice

You need a coach. Ask the parents to help you find someone nearby that's a real coach.

Where are all the loser hobby joggers who said HS kids dont stalk D1 teams?

This here is Exhibit A. Sooo many HS kids cold calling our coaches and randomly messaging us to ask for training advice and asking if they can train with us. After we ignore them they get bitter and turn into LRC posters in their 30s and act like they never cared.

Since you were a failure as a D1 runner, they were lucky not to get any advice from you.

It's totally legal.You may or may not get a response. Many famous people became successful in life because they had the courage to contact someone they admired.Coaches....I mean, real coaches, those that live and breathe running and care about the sport....will have no qualms about an email from a passionate younger runner.If you don't receive a response, do not be discouraged. Half the time emails are not even read due to the spam filter at my school.You have nothing to lose. Ignore the negativity.
