Hello. I am new to the community, and trying to get my mile time to around 5:30. I am 5'2 and weigh around 105 lbs, how many pounds should I lose to get that mile time? What BMI works for you?

are you a female?
go for a BMI of 18 ish, but BMIs are generally a very limited measure of fitness.
A more useful metric to aim for would be 12-14% BF. What is your current mile time? Also, what kind of build are you? If you're more muscular, then 105 might actually be too light. If you're small frame and don't have much visible muscle definition, then 100 lbs would be about right.
Weight loss is not the only way to achieve a time goal. Losing too much weight can make you really sick though. For example, I'm about 115 and 5'3.5 and I run just fine (around a five minute mile). It's more about your training than what you weigh.
16 pounds

Nice try.
It's not about weight. I'm 5'6". A couple years ago, I was 105 and was running about 5:45 mile. I started a healthier diet where I actually gained weight (118) and now I'm running 5:18-5:22 mile (junior in college). I know those times aren't amazing, but just trying to make a point that it is not about losing weight.
