For some reason, my right gluteus medius/minimus and hip abductor haven't fired properly for several months, which seem to lead to weak abduction. And that has made me unable to run fast, let alone racing.
And when I do things like clam shell and leg lift, I notice my right hip abductor contraction is considerably weaker than the left.
I have tried glute-strengthening exercises for 6 weeks+, it helps to some extent, and the size of my butt has also got bigger, but still a long way from getting rid of the problem.
Also, I have external snapping hip on the right side, wondering if it has to do with my weak glute and hip.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, I started rolling it like mad with a lacrosse ball, and starting from last week, when I flex my glute, there is a hugh lump. What is that actually, should I stop rolling it? Btw, I have some sharp piriformis pain
doing it.
