Yes. IAAF window opened 1-1-2015, USATF window only opened 11-17-2015

So what does this performance tell us about Galen's marathon chances? This was a marathon pace workout right?

We were timing off stream which wasn't accurate as it paused.
This meet sure shows the online streaming market $ are mainly about getting relatives to watch college students run.
No college and not a lot of entrants here so we're left to watch this on periscope. As anyone seen a HQ stream on periscope? Was surprised how poor it was.
best i could do for rupps splits
30.3, 31.9, 32.5, 32.2, 32.7, 32.3, 30.8, 31, 31.5, 31.7, 31.6, 32, 32.1, 31.9

Chelimo is racing the mile next week when there's better competition.
goodness your jokes are flipping terrible. just like that one guy who's girl tested positive for epo and worked with wejo for his 10k and ended up coaching usa indoors. ethics and stuff. you guys are flipping chaaaaaamaps. you and martha and stuff.
Last Friday, he started to go onto the track but a volunteer stopped him not knowing who he was. I quickly educated her and she later apologized to him. He was cool about it.
Rupp would have been smashed in Australia.

Did he take all his vitamins this time around ?
Love all the jokes about Rupp's time. In all likelihood he probably had already done a significant workout earlier in the day. The 3000 was nothing more than working on finishing speed when you have fatigued legs. AlSal probably had him do 15 miles tempo that morning.
My phone doesn't have a ton of storage, but here's a partial Rupp 3K video. The pacer actually made it through 5 or 6 laps. He'd raced the mile earlier.

What's with the rest of the field, did they run slower than normal? Weird to see Rupp in a race with a bunch of people running HS times.

Sounds like he ran a qualifier in a workout, nothing more. It does give home the benefit of making marathon pace feel much more relaxed in a couple weeks.

The faster and sharper he is at 3k, the better he will do at the marathon. 7:45 3k or faster will make any marathon pace feel like a breeze.
Yes, definitely.
This is why most of the world's greatest marathoners are known to race a 3000 two weeks before the marathon. Almost all WRs and PRs among the global elite have come two weeks after a 3000 race.
Riiiiiiiight.
Remember that Salazar had Farah doing fast 200s to prepare for London, and look how Farah underperformed there. The man simply cannot coach the distance.
Yeah because running outdoors is so much faster than running in perfect conditions on a perfect indoor banked track. Nawt.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
