1:45.93!!!!! My god!
1:45.93!!!!! My god!
PS. I was told he won by 7 seconds!!!

he is the future and we've seen nothing yet. trust me, once in a ~50yr talent as far as U.S. is concerned
What a day for the NCAA 800, Kidder breaks collegiate 1000 record and then Brazier absolutely blows everyone's expectations out of the water!

Sorry to interrupt your football playoff viewing but I just got a call from a prominent HS coach who told me that he just got a call from a top collegiate coach telling him that Donovan Brazier had just run 1:45.9 indoors with no rabbit.
Yes, it's true as shown by this tweet.
https://twitter.com/aggietrk/status/688483653597319169Brazier ran 1:45.93, nearly breaking the American collegiate record of 1:45.88.
The race was done on a regulation track at Texas A&M with no rabbits and he we believe he went out in 51.
The top coach who called our buddy said he thougth Brazier would run 1:42 this year. So sick.

PS. The HS coach who called me today is the same one who half of LetsRun.com mocked last year when he stated that Grant Fisher wasn't even the most talented HSer in Michigan as shown here:

Yes, yes, yes!!!
The legend grows.
As a HS senior:
-45.9 FAT relay split
-sub-4:10 mile
-even split 1:48s like clockwork...
...and now this!
Had Donavan run this time 16 days ago, it would have been an AJR indoors by nearly 2 seconds (Donavan turns 20 in the Spring).

Ha, I'm an idiot. It is an AJR. He turns 19 in the Spring.
I was at the race! No one was even close to him. Amazing!
WOW. Look at the splits too, he went through in 1:18 for 600 and ran a 26 from 400 to 600! This kid is a machine and he beat Chad Noelle (NCAA mile champ) by almost 8 seconds! I'm literally speechless.

Also think about this...he ran over 4 seconds faster than Manzano did in the Olympic development section! His 1:50 looks like nothing compared to this kid.

Doesn't Jim Ryun own the AJR at 1:44.9 for 880y (1:44.3c)? Or, are do you mean indoors?
Anyhow, it will be interesting to see that he can do this year. Maybe a shot at the Olympics? Certainly the US trials..
In other news. Oregon's Raevyn Rogers has run way faster than the colllegiate record in the women's 600. The record wasb1:26.56 (at altitude, fastest at sea level was 1:26.58) but since it's on a 300m track I assume it won't count as a CR.
Section 5
1 Rogers, Raevyn Oregon 1:26.34M
2 Feldmeier, Brooke Oregon 1:28.21!
3 Baker, Olivia Stanford 1:29.08!
4 Butterworth, Lindsey Valley Royals 1:34.00
-- Gayles, Gabrielle Stanford DNF
-- Fricker, McKayla Brooks DNF

I guess my source was a little excited. Brazier won by 5.70 seconds.
1 Donavan Brazier Texas A&M 1:45.93 1 (1)
2 Efrain Hernandez Texas A&M 1:51.63 1 (2)
3 Robert Uhr Texas 1:52.41 1 (3)
4 Matthew Fayers Oklahoma State 1:52.46 1 (4)
5 Talem Franco BYU 1:52.57 2 (1)
6 Connor Ross BYU 1:52.63 2 (2)
7 JaQwae Ellison Texas A&M 1:52.85 2 (3)
8 Jake McConnell Texas 1:53.00 2 (4)
What kind of a douche bag runs that hard this early in the year??
Damn, those are perfect splits for a fast 800. The kid is like the Mozart of the 800!
Wait, Rojo, you're saying that BEFORE this race, Creese had the record of 2:21.89... and then in this race, he ran 2:21.89 again? Or was the record another number?

Screw that! "Bring him along"? Who's going to "bring him"? He's where nobody else is. He can go where he wants, when he wants. He should go balls-to-the-wall for Rio.
West Michigan grown. Represent son!

You almost have to feel sorry for Creese. He goes from, "Wow I'm the collegiate record holder at 1k. I'm gonna win NCAAs in the 800" to "Coach, can I run the mile at NCAAs" simply due to Brazier's unreal run.
Given PSU's record, he should be saying "coach, can you please just train me so that I can still run a decent time at nationals instead of blowing my whole load in January and running like crap for any meet that might matter?"

Agreed. Americans are too soft. They want to do things slowly as the rest of the world passe them by.
