Lane Lohr was my coach in college and your "facts" are wrong. He didn't settle, the girl dropped the case.
I came to Lindenwood via Jonesboro. While I did not know the accuser, she had spent time there and many people there did know her, and they all seemed to think the allegations were without merit.
To the best of my knowledge, he wasn't let go or pushed out from MICDS, he left when he got the head coaching job at Lindenwood.
He never behaved inappropriately to me and I never witnessed anything with my teammates either.
He was let go from Lindenwood after the 2006 season, because the nut job president had a buddy he wanted to hire, and he couldn't get away with firing the football coach. It had nothing to do with the allegations, those were a year and a half prior.
Lindenwood didn't seem to care about the allegations actually. I figured the administration would at least touch base with me after they came out, since I was one of only two female vaulters he had the previous season, but no one at the school ever talked to me.
Again, the civil case had been dropped by the time he was fired. Lindenwood was a pretty sketchy school, they were never concerned about it in the first place (it seemed to me that they should have at least touched base with his current athletes to make sure everything was OK).
All coaches also had to work a job of some sort at the school, and Lane's was in the admissions office. The official reason they gave him for firing him had something to do with not meeting goals or something they had set for admissions.
Lane took an assistant coaching job at Wash U and has been there ever since. He is now in his 10th season there. I'm no longer living in the area, but plenty of my teammates are, and other pole vault people I know, and I haven't heard about any "situations".
I volunteer coached the vaulters at Wash U while competing my last season at Lindenwood, and unlike Lindenwood, it is a really classy institution. I don't think he would have lasted there over 8 years if he was being "skeezy."
I cannot say with absolute certainty what has ever happened between him and anyone else. I have many friends who have been victims of various things, most of whom never reported it, so I am reluctant to accuse someone of lying. I know that a lot of coaches get away with a lot of stuff.
But I can tell you I am the only female vaulter he coached all three years he was at Lindenwood and I would have no problem sending any female athlete or even my own daughter to train with him... and there are coaches in my past that I cannot say the same for.
