I think the individual scoring should be done much differently.
Individual scoring, you just add up the points of where your 10 picks finish. So you score it like a 10 person cross country team.So the lowest possible is 55 (10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1). Add in a max total. The max anyone can score is 50 so if you DNF it's 50. Maybe have some sort of bonus for nailing the winner. You subtract 10 points from your total if you get the winner right.
I'm wondering if the team scoring should be done similarly. You just add up the points of your 10 pics and the lowest score wins. Again minus 10 for nailing the winner. My biggest fear is there would be a lot of ties.
Fortunately Robert has no idea how to change the code.
If we scored it like real cross country then all that would matter would be making sure your 8th, 9th, 10th, guys didn't bomb. Most people don't even know who those people are. Under that system if you got the top 5 completely wrong in the wrong order? Who cares. Pick Cheserek 5th and he gets 1st? Who cares.
I'm leaning to reducing the penalty to 10 points.
