I am having trouble finding some training shoes. I wear the Asics Gel Verdict but the outer sole wears down very fast. I also wear the NB 330, but I've just never been very enamoured with the fit of this shoe. I thought the 831s would work but no luck. I am looking for some recommendations for some basic, decently cushioned (I have no choice but to be on concrete much of the time) trainers.
Looking through the catalogs, I was thinking of trying several models (just based on the description and weight). These are:
Mizuno Wave Maverick and Wave Precision, Asics Gel DS Trainer (outersole looks thicker than the Gel Verdict), saucony grid azura, brooks burn, and NB 920.
Any other recommendations. I was going to hit all the local stores, since no one is going to have more than one model.
How do you people find good shoes if there isn't a good local store? The local store doesn't let you return anything, and what can you tell from a jog around the parking lot? I was thinking of taking advantage of Road Runner Sports return policy and ordering about 10 pairs, then returning all but one or two.
