good shoes out there - help

I am also considering just running barefooted and saving some money on shoes. Anyone else doing that?

Try the Mizuno Precisions I wear them now and we made the decision not to carry the verdict bc it is not up to par with its predecessor.

Ironically, the DS Trainer is not really a training shoe- no protection for your feet. It's really meant for racing, in my opinion, since it's ultra light. But, some have been able to pull off 100 miles weeks on them... only they change shoes every three weeks. Rich bastards!

I like the Asics GT II or GT III. Very soft, supportive and able to take 1000 miles easy. Good Luck!

the verdict is a light weight shoe, i would be surprised if you got 300miles out of it. if you want a neutral shoe that lasts u hve to go along the lines of...brooks glyceron, asics cumulus or nimbus, saucony trigon or web, even the pegasus is gonna last twice as long as the verdict.

I got sick and tired of Nike constantly screwing up the good shoes that they had and have swithched to the Brooks Glycerin and love it. Its got good cushioning, but still fairly light.

I have some motion control problems on my rt foot, and yes I can start feeling shoe breakdown at 300 miles or so. What I have found though is that I can take out the insert and replace it with a Spenco orthotic (Crosstrainer style) and I can almost double my mileage with that very same shoe. The Spenco is only $20 and I can put it in several shoes before replacing them, thus it saves me a lot of money.

The drawback, if any, is they add almost 2 ounces to your shoe so that may bother some of you guys.

Everyone is different which is why it is hard to get recommendations from someone that fits you, but after a long time of wearing nothing by Nike's, I've finally switched over to Mizuno and love the Wave Riders.
