Congrats Deena. She ran a slight negative split as she was 74:03 at the half.

Nah. Why would she? She might be in 2:27 shape now with a neg split, but the Trials are 4 months off. By then she could completely unravel and knows it, so it would be silly for her to assume she might have another fast one in her. -

bet you a nickel she is planning to run in both the marathon trials and the track trials. -
Deena is just a class act, plain and simple. Andrew is, too. We will not forget the fact that the two of them put in the track at Mammoth with a lot of hard work and time. This performance and all the good to her legacy is well earned. Congrats to both of them. Great work.

Who gives a crap.
What is the USA's obsession with the maters records -
Deena is Joanie v 2.0
-
She is like way old.
-
..... And how old are you? And can you run 2:27? Or prove that you have run 2:27? Or 2:19 like Deena?
Lol. No
You sound "way" too much like a wannabe. -
It will be covered up, just like before.
-
That puts her at #4 among current qualifiers with just a few seconds down to Cragg at #3. Incredible that she has come from so far back after her glory days when she ran 2:19. 2:27 is just a tough time to get even for men. For American women, it was obviously too hard for anyone else to do it at Chicago this year, and she is a masters woman. Tremendous.

Remember, there was a thread about Alexi Pappas and her training with Deena.
Deena = role model for us old guys who wish we could live the life -
With all the wind I am wondering if that wasn't worth 2:25 in good conditions. No one else seemed to PR, except Puskedra. Kiplagat was five minutes off her PR.
I think that Shalane, Desi and Deena would be a Dream Team for Rio. -
Where you all at! Where you all hiding..all you that were bashing Deena on this board forever! Where are you! I hope the stars align for her. Go after it DEENA!
