Colorado debuts at Shootout, thoughts?

I spoke with Moussa and he said that he had some kind of "tweak" of which he didn't specify. He said he would definitely be racing in the next meet and his fitness level was very high. He seemed really upbeat and confidentquote]Pin racer wrote:

I agree, but given how loaded Stanford is this year Colorado is looking more and more vulnerable. If saarel and/or Moussa aren't in top form that opens the door.

doesn't appear to be cause for concern. Moussa is just knicked a bit and Saarel has 6 or 7 weeks and 3 races before the big one to get back to 100%.

Last years team put 6 under 25 minutes and with Ammar and Ben rolling that would've been the case again. 5 all-americans back and Zach Perrin is looking really strong this year.

I think it will be interesting to see what Wetmore does with John Dressel's red shirt as he appears to be firmly slotted as the #7 man. Ryan Forsyth is looking like a capable #7 as well so that will probably influence his decision.

The fact that this kid is a legitimate #7 is a testament to Wetmore's coaching prowess. Not knocking him. He was very good in HS, but he wasn't a top tier recruit.

Having read Running with the Buffs and watching UC for years now, it seems that Wetmore has been able to peak his runners at the right time and mitigate injuries (which wasn't the case during the Running with the Buffs years).

That, combined with the altitude advantage and the focus on distance running vs track and field is the reason they're so good.
