Ran it as a workout, just to see the course. Gave some free kolas points to several teams, which sucks for bubble teams that weren't there.

Their #1 to #4 all finished within 1 second of each other, but very far in the pack.
It\'s as if the coach said: \"Guys, this is your first race of the year. You won\'t win NCAA in this race. Use it as a rust buster. Only give it 90% effort. I want you to feel in control the whole way. We will build on this for the next race. No point in leaving your season on the course today.\"
Did Solinsky and Bairu run that way for Wisconsin?
Glad Ole Miss showed their quality early in the year. Now we do't have to suffer the hype any more.
Steal a bunch of runners, still can't be a good team.

Agree 100%
Why are people so afraid to race? I mean they race the workouts in practice but can't try in a race?
They should have gone out there when no one else is there to "get a feel" for the course. I mean does this crap happen in any other sport?
Maybe wisco took it easy, but I can guartee you they aren't as good as Iona this year. Very surprising Mississippi wasn't further up. Did they sit someone out?
I thought this thread was going to be about their overrated football team starting out 3-2.
Really makes our sport look ridiculous. What a freakin joke. Running it as workout (or barely that!) in a meet like this is embarrassing! Obviously they will do fine at the end of the year. They are a solid team but I can't see how this really helps them.
In Louisville they're running in the back with perennial losers Penn State and Grand Valley State.
What's going on?
They better have a guy or two on the bench because that number five is way back. I think they're just hiding their weakness until later. Can't lose confidence yet!

Taking it easy didn't work out very well for Wisconsin last year did it? What is Byrne thinking.
It was just a workout as someone else said. I agree it would be nice to see them race, but Adidas will be where we get a good read on them. Morgan and Malachy will be All-Americans for sure IMO. Hardy will be a solid 3. After that it gets interesting. Is Kai healthy? What about Kromer / Hirsch? Olin could contribute as well. Time will tell.
Mick's comments (for men and women) made it clear that this was merely a workout/course preview. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with his approach, but they were not racing to win. I'd expect that they will race at full strength at the home adidas meet.
"Better to be thought a fool, then open one's mouth and remove all doubt".
Mick knows they're not that good and this places no pressure on them at all.
At least Jerry would travel up to Oshkosh instead of all the way to Louisville to make a mockery of a real meet. He has run the track program into ground for his beloved cross country; they better win a trophy to justify moves like this.

Wes Gallagher, their number 1last year and a 14:0x 5k guy didn't run so that makes their 1-5 much better than it was today. I still think they are over hyped and will probably be a 15-25 team this season.
Actually, Jerry had a habit of holding runners out of races until Championship portion of the season. I think it might have cost them one or two titles.

Wisco sat Hirsch and Kromer who would have been in the pack. Also, no decision has been made on Olin Hacker. I assume he runs unattached in the open race at Wisco Invite.

Wes Gallagher looked like he had a rough day or was battling an injury. He was around 24:00 here last year so if you factor that in they would have placed a lot better. But we'll see how they do at Wisconsin in 2 weeks.

Oh god, didn't even notice he was in the results at all!
Hope he gets better by wisco or sec's, this team needs him if they want to be a 15-10 team.
