Because dogs are not bullet proof, and if they shoot your dog then you want to be able to shoot back. Guns locked in a safe aren't very helpful for self defense when you're in the other room.

Disarm America when you grow a pair, find a spine, and stop being a coward.
Which means NEVER you coward.
You are semi-literate, and overcompensating for feelings of gross inadequacy. Perhaps you are short, physically weak, socially awkward. You have limited intimate experience. You might be a virgin. It's possible your psychological overcompensation is motivated feelings of self-loathing born of homosexual orientation. In any case (whether you're trolling or serious) your online behavior presents a clearly unhealthy psychological profile. You will lash out due to the sting of truth. That's ok. But know this: you can get help and find a measure of peace in your life. Best of luck.

We can all translate this to mean the following:
You are a spineless, yellow belly coward who does not have a hair on his arse to take an 1 single action to disarm 1 single American Citizen. Like the weakling you are you will just talk $hit on a forum as if your words meant a g0d dam thing. News flash $hit stick, your are as empty and hollow as the space were your spine should be.
Let me know if and when your ball sac ever drops and you actually do something. I won't be holding my breath that you or any other cowardly fck will do anything but cower like the weaklings you are.
"We The People" will continue to do what we do best, be free. America does not bouw down to leftist turd buckets such as you.
Randy, good buddy, looks like we have problems.
While Obama responded quickly, crassly and fixatedly to the Oregon shooting, it looks like some are calling War Crimes on the recent Obama Administration bombing of a hospital in Afghanistan housing Doctor's without borders.
See the Drudge Report.

Obama and his priorities
Btw, the dog or even 4 dogs can be rapidly killed.
Randy, good pal
I found the article about Obama war crimes, call.

I hope you're intelligent enough to realize that you are the one who misinformed him.
Ah! You are right. I was conflating the number of NICS checks to equal the number of new weapons sold. I think the 85 million number came from an article projecting how many NICS checks would be performed in Obama's second term. Obviously, some would be turned down. However, NICS checks are often used as a proxy to estimate gun sales. If you search for "gun sales by year", you'll find articles citing NICS checks as a proxy.
It looks like about a quarter to a third of NICS checks are for CCW applications or renewals.
Also, the number of NICS checks is a lot higher than I thought. It looks like about 110 million since Jan 2010. Here's a link to NICS checks by year.
http://www.governing.com/gov-data/gun-background-checks-by-state-nics-chart.htmlMy major premise is still correct, however. Gun sales have skyrocketed under Obama. While NICS checks aren't the same as gun sales, NICS checks provide a way to estimate changes from one year to the next.
NICS checks have gone from a high of 12.7 million in 2008 under Bush to 21 million/year for the past couple of years under Obama.

More like another huge spike in gun sales.
No one can sell guns like Obama. This POTUS has and will continue to make gun manufacturers rich beyond measure.
The gun industry thank$ you Barry!
I want to start off by saying I am a liberal democrat and most people here would think that I'm extremely liberal were we to have a political discussion. I believe in socialized medicine but I am 100% against gun control. It makes no sense. Prohibition normally does nothing to stop people from getting what they want or wanting what they want. As long as there is a demand there will be a supply. Look at the war on drugs. It has done nothing to stop neither the importation nor the desire for people in the US to get high. Americans love guns (I have no problem with that) and if you take them away or make it more difficult to purchase they aren't going to stop loving them. In addition, just read crime reports in your local paper. How many times does someone get arrest with a gun and they are charged w possession of a firearm w obliterated serial number? All the time. I would be willing to bet that an overwhelming majority of gun crimes in cities are perpetrated by people who aren't even allowed to own a gun. So we need to think about that for a second. They are already prohibited from possessing a firearm yet they have one anyway. It is clear that any gun law is not a deterrent in cases like these. This is just common sense. Criminals are going to be criminals. Issues like these are stupid becuase they become politicized and common sense is removed from the arguement. I don't care how liberal I am, I can still think for myself. I don't feel compelled to just be a yes man for every issue of the Democratic Party. I don't really care about gun control as an issue but if you were to ask me I would say that I am 100% against is because it makes no sense.
Another textbook example of overcompensation stemming from feelings of inadequacy.
Textbook says:
Overcompensation may also take place if a man doubts his masculinity, and goes out of his way to talk about subjects that are considered masculine, such as cars, sports, and fighting. He may act aggressively or verbally hostile towards homosexuals, in an attempt to appear more masculine. If this person also had negative experience with women, he may act overly chauvinistic towards women, for example stating phrases such as “all women are sluts or bitches.â€
The simple fact is this: secure, psychologically healthy, well-adjusted men do not spend their time raging (overcompensating) on message boards. How many childish email addresses will you have you set up? How many sad posts will you have to make before you realize there's a better way to feel better? Work on yourself.

Again - secure, well adjusted adult men don't, as in do not, spend their time raging on message boards. You are overcompensating for feelings of inferiority and male inadequacy.
Also it's "too" and "resoundingly"

"Raging?" Hey buddy I'm in the "winners circle." You are the turd who thinks that pouting on a message board is going to disarm American Citizens. You know you can't, won't, never will...setting YOU into a "rage."
I can't even imagine how defeated you libtards must feel. The frustration alone must enrage you. Don't do like your Libtard brethren and go shoot up a "gun free zone."
You sick fcks have no problem killing children in sandy hook or at a planned parent hood genocide center.

He gave perfunctory statement about victims then spent rest of time whining how Congress blocks gun laws and other stuff. He said it was an inconvenience to him to have to speak again after a shooting.
So how many mass school shootings would have to happen for you to get some common sense about stronger gun purchasing background checks and waiting periods.
1 a week, with 5 dead or more?
1 per day with how many dead or more?
10 a day with 15 dead or more?
Tell me, where's your number, where's the tipping point number???
Sure the founding fathers didn't need gun control background checks etc., for muskets.
The society was smaller, people needed guns for hunting and ocassionally safety in the woods, frontier etc.
The first mass murderer had not existed in the USA when the 2nd Amendment/Constitution was constructed. The first mass shooting was nearly 200 years away.
Conditions change.
At some point regulation needs to change to reflect the realities of what is happening in the society -- not just massive deregulation to make it easier for an economic uber powerful aristocracy to make it harder for everyday people to gain wealth, and easier for the super rich to profit in all economic conditions.

Most people don't sign their posts, but thanks for being honest.
Wait, so these massacres are something that should simply be ignored? Not talked about in the political arena?
