why come all this way and run in the d1 race just to workout?
Exactly my sentiments.
A totally wasted trip.

They looked better today beating #9 Western at Fort Hays Invite without 5 of their top 7 from Griak (http://heartlandtiming.com/results/2015fhsuopen/index.html).
True freshman ran unattached and was 8th, ahead of Western's #2 guy.
Thoughts?
Here is how you cover your home team, the Finke way (SID for Western State) from the Ft Hays CC meet
"The No. 6 ranked Mountaineer women upset No. 2 Adams State University. Western scored 43 points to finish first, while the Grizzlies scored 46 and placed second."
"The No. 10 ranked Mountaineer men were just four points behind No. 4 Adams State, finishing second with 74 points. Western finished 67 points ahead of No. 17 Pittsburgh State University."
My thoughts? ASU didn't run many of their top runners so .....
Great article by the WSC SID!

I heard that Adams was supposed to bring their full squad, but couldn't because the rest weren't healthy. I bet they were trying to make a statement against the rankings but cracked under the intensity of their 130 mpw training plan. I'm laying my cards down and saying GV or SUU takes it.

Did you guys just see Adams state won regionals by 49 points over Colorado mines (who was supposed to be better) WITHOUT THEIR TOP RUNNER. Jackson saylor didn't run. All of you overreact and don't know what you're talking about. Adams will be fine, should be a good battle between them and gvsu

Be patient with this young group.
No excuses.
Back to work.
Not that impressive when they're only winning D2 ever year... They probably wouldn't have a single D1 victory if they were able to bump up.
They would be a top 10 team in DI no doubt and I'm willing to bet that their D team would be able to beat you in your prime as well.
My friend, you are misinformed. I transferred to Adams State from a large D1 school. Didn't spend any money, since I was on scholarship (although as a state normal school in a poor county, there is generous financial aid available and tuition is comparatively cheap.) I particularly enjoyed the greater emphasis that Adams State placed on academics for its athletes than the school I transferred from, and I didn't have any trouble getting into law school after graduating. I also enjoyed getting the opportunity to compete at the Drake, Kansas, Penn and Mt. Sac Relays in addition to the "National Championships" and although I didn't qualify for the Olympic Trials, 5 of my teammates did. Other enjoyable perks included getting to train at 7500 ft, being coached by Dr. Joe Vigil, and training with Olympians like Pat Porter and Deena Kastor.
I feel sorry for the kind of loser you're describing. One of the things one learns competing for an elite program is that it is unbecoming to ridicule those who are less successful. Since you clearly haven't learned that lesson, you must have been on one of those teams we've been eating for lunch for the last 40 years.
