So according to Christian Taylor's instagram, uniform, etc. he is sponsored by Nike. But in Beijing and other Pro meets he's jumped at this year he is wearing Adidas jumping spikes (with tape over the 3 stripes at Beijing). Are nike's TJ shoes crap? You would figure the least Nike could do is re-upper a pair of adidas spikes? Whats up with that?

Looks like in the past he's been sponsored by Li-Ning and did the same thing. (Which is more understandable because I doubt they make TJ-specific shoes.)
Did Nike recently start sponsoring Taylor? I know some shoe companies give a "waiver" and athletes compete in shoes they're used to for a certain period of time.
when you're jumping 18.20, you can tell nike to f off and wear whatever shoes you want.
there is at least one elite HJer (erik kynard) who wears adidas with a nike cover-up on them.
I thought Kynard was sponsored by Jordan.
He is sponsored by Jordan and wears unique jordan high jump spikes, however he is correct plenty of high jumpers and I've even seen sprinters wear covers for their spikes that differ from their contracted companies
