It's not the heat.
These guys are scared to dope for Worlds. They crush ridiculous times at big money marathons then completely disappear when the screws are tightened. This sport is such a farce

i didnt want to admit, it but damn it sure does look like that is a real possibility....
no monetary incentive so you get a training run

... because appearance fees don't increase much if you enter a major as the current world champion, do they?
Would make sense if any of the other faves like Dessisa and Kiprotich were killing it . Eritrea winning their first title with unfancied Ethiopian and Ugandan following. Still East African ownage. Nothing to see here.
That's one tough training run................
I swear a Kenyan guy won a big race in Beijing a few years back. Can't come up with a name though.

Appearance fees disappear if you get caught doping

No. WC marathon really doesn't mean as much as being winner of a major.

So,
When we win men's 1,500m, what will you say?
That will be Kiprop's race by the way.
IT's cast in iron.

That a doped kenyan won?
wait, whuh? I thought doped Kenyans weren't showing up at this meeting? that's the premise of this thread.
Let's watch the Steeplechase heats .. where peculiarly enough, the top 3 Kenyans are all running.

WC is a major or at least counts as one
Kenya has been known to force certain athletes to run it though, and they would probably guarantee an Olympic spot to a gold medal winner

Because they hang it over your head. If they ask you to run worlds and you refuse, you can forget about being named to the Olympic team.
They run usually run cautious in a championship because there are no rabbits and no appearance fees. Unlike a major road race, they're not guaranteed anything so they can't be as risky with their strategy.

Yep. If this keeps up you may see Europeans and others actually become interested in competing (in large numbers). But don't count out the behind the scenes agenda that has allowed E. Africans, Cubans and others to let their top stars dope with impunity for the most part.

To most runners, the Olympics are still more important than the World Championships. In the case of the Marathon, unfortunately they can't make as good of a payday at worlds because of limited opportunities. Additionally, having "World Champion" means nothing in the marathon where you can only compete 2-3x a year at the distance. However, once Olympic Cycles are thrown in there, all of a sudden it becomes one major marathon in 8-10 for most runners, and because of how spread out the others are, the runners make a point to focus on the Olympic Marathon the year prior.
Case in point: USA's marathoners - skip Worlds for a pay day, but still take the Olympic Cycle very seriously
Watch the marathon at Rio get taken a lot more seriously than today's did.

You're a liar or a complete imbecile if you believe that. The IAAF would love nothing more than to have Europeans winning these races.
