If you're doing 70 mpw plus, is it possible to be too skinny or have too low of a body fat percentage that you can't recover/improve as well? I think I'm catabolic but don't know what to do about it.

Umm you may want to post your height and weight, but i doubt you could be so skinny you arent recovering. I have never really even heard of that unless you are maybe a girl and are having annorexia problems or something... My guess is you may be enimic. Thats an iron defficiency that will make running a lot harder. You won't recover, and you'll find training and running fast a pain. Eating red meet will help this as well as iron suppliments. Other than that i would just suggest to eat a ton. Have a really big and balanced diet. Eat a lot more than you usually do. This should help your energy level. you should probably get a blood test done at the doctors to pinpoint the exact problem, such as ememia, or some other defficiency that could possibly be causing it. Good luck!
anemic.
actually Rabbit, it is possible to be too skinny and have that case an inability to recover. Under 2% body fat or near that level is unhealthy(talking about males, i think its about 8% for females). But I doubt thats what the cause is, just take some iron supplements some vitamin C(not at the same time as calcium) eat some red "meet" , get some vegetables and get some sleep. anemia is most likely the culprit....
I'm 6'1" and I weigh 106 lbs.
i'm not sure it's possible to be that thin at 6ft 1 in..., i was 6 ft 1 and 115 at a few years ago and that was ridicously thin...if you are serious, i would say you need to definitely gain some weight
wow. i'm 6' 1" and lost 5 pounds on my sunday long run to get me down to 129. anytime i dip below 130 i feel like i'm in a danger zone. not that i feel any different, i just feel like 130 is too light. 106 i can't even imagine. i do feel at times that my thin frame and lack of muscle mass prevents me from training harder. recovering from speed in college was always an issue for me, and in my current marathon training for vegas i've run 6 days week simply b/c my body needs a day a week to rebuild itself. i hope that you get things figured out. the best advice i've recieved about my light weight is "dude, eat a sandwich."
6' 1" and 106? Stop running and EAT!
Dude start eating all you can (come on down to Ark and I will fix you up some venison steaks for you.)
You can't be serious dude. I'm 5'10, an athletic 140 and get a fair shaer of the "your too skinny" comments. If your seriously 6'1, 105 get your ass to a doctor quickly because there's something wrong with you.
where is Macenroe when you need him
Are you really serious?? 6-1 106? That is skinny to the extreme. In fact that doesnt even really sound possible, just going by some of the girls i know who look like skeletons at 5-8 108 or so. If this really is the case, i would have to agree with the others and say stop running and see a doctor. You may have something seriously wrong with something else because if you are that thin, eating, and not gaining any weight there might be some serious health issues.
Either that, or your scale is broken.

Let me guess, you are really Johnny Winter.
No, I'm not 106.. I'm 137 and 6 feet. If I weigh more than this, I feel I recover faster... so I was looking for some science behind this. Thanks.
Was it the venison steaks that did it? You gained 31 pounds in just under 24 hours....way to go!
Make up your mind. Are you 106 or 137. It makes a big difference.
Maybe this is the dude that can eat 101 hotdogs at one sitting? Impressive.
Males need 3% body fat to survive, 6-8% is recommended. Females are I believe 3-5% higher.
Alan
LOL that's some funny shit!!
