Awesome running.
How fortunate to have a straight road like that to train on.
Wow- Solo'd it.
Reminds me of Big Wave Dave, back before he got famous.
dank
That was awesome, like Big Wave. Hope Conner gets that far in his career!
I actually got chills watching that, and I have never even heard of this kid.
Thanks for sharing
The kid's a beast. Too bad he's going on a mission trip 2 years before college, but one must respect his decision.
Definitely a better miler than Fisher or Maton. He ran this at altitude!
I wish we could have seen him match up against them, that would have been great. Is it too late in the summer to get these guys together?
-290 ft elevation change, but still awesome to watch
Who/what is Big Wave Dave?

5.5% grade
1. might want to take some white chalk.
mark your 440, 880, and so forth.
2. quit looking at the watch.
3. pay attention to the last 440 and
depending on grade, sprint it. That second to the
last telephone pole, I wonder if you could've sprinted it?
Don' t know, maybe imagine a big German shepherd dog
coming after you, may have propelled you more.
4. Chalk your "FINISH"
5. run through at least fifty yards to a jog.
You almost injured yourself by abruptly stopping so you
daredevil especially those of you with long legs, watch it.
From my research:
Short legs with no bowled legs about one inch between
the kneecaps will do better on the downhills due their
body and stride mechanics.
If you've done it right, you will be on the ground
or the side of that road, gasping and feeling
the last vestiges of oxygen being pulled out of
your lungs as you recover. It's an unforgettable feeling.
Nice effort.
am i not in on the joke here why is everybody knob slobbing
I respect the guy for voluntarily serving others for 2 years. Excited to see what he can do when he gets back.

No, one must tolerate his decision. Respect not so much.
agreed. as a utahn i was excited to see if this kid could go up against saarel. if you were surrounded by the LDS church everyday you wouldn't respect it either.
Great video. He's a great kid, too. He said he was going to attempt a sub-4 downhill, and he did it. I've had the privilege of watching him run live against the other best high school runners in the U.S. a couple of times. Good luck to Conner on his church mission and beyond.
Now, run back the other way up the hill for one mile and see what you get smarta$$!
This is good fun and an impressive time, but I cringe a bit knowing last year he had to take a big chunk of time off due to a stress fracture/reaction. I think 2 years off from intense training and competition might be a good thing.
