Transferring to Arkansas. Is Oregon switching the focus of the women's team entirely to sprints?

I was pretty surprised by this. She was running well at Oregon. I wonder what made her want to switch.
Oregon's losing their fastest female 1500 meter runner to Arkansas?
Good luck to Nikki...she's really talented.

Arkansas really lol damn I have been their I feel sorry for her. Oregon loses I think 6 points from it's NCAA Women's National Championship team and will surely repeat Outdoors and most likely win indoors for the 5th time in the last 6 years.
She got kicked off the team. That is all.
She got kicked off the Oregon team? that makes more sense then wanting to transfer from Oregon to Arkansas. Do you know why she got kicked off the team? She seemed to get better and better at Oregon :(
She didn't get kicked off the team. Oregon gave her permission to talk to Arkansas.
Yes they did. And she was kicked off the team.
What could she have possibly hotter kicked off for?
Being gutsy AF and going all out when she needed to?
Yeah the girl is badass but its that mentality that allows athletes to break through to the next level. Team Hiltz.
Classic example of Powell being unable to keep athletes because she isn't a players coach (Haiss also transferred to Arkansas last year and is running well there). The best coaches maintain relationships with their athletes far beyond the track and Powell is incapable of doing so. Yeah Nikki was running well at Oregon, but anyone can sharpen a knife. She was already a stud and just had to be pointed in the right direction, with Alberto's guide.
What did she get kicked off the team for?
So what is it? She was kicked off the team? She wasn't kicked off the team? She is transferring to Arkansas, certainly a step-down from Oregon, but what are the facts? She had the second best time in the 1500 for returning athletes to Oregon, but they are loaded at the 1500 and are rumored to have 2 or 3 faster girls coming in next year. Oregon does not give full-rides, but maybe Arkansas does?

You've been their what?
I heard, from a friend of a friend -- so you can count that as much as its worth-- that there were other reasons for her transfer outside of running. As a Pac-12 fan, I hate to see her leave the conference, but I wish her the best.
Not terribly surprising that she is going to Arkansas after a transfer. Her freshman roommate/best friend/training partner, Therese Haiss transferred to Arkansas after her first year and ran 4:36 for the mile indoors. Yes, she did not compete as well outdoors but seems like she was probably whispering in Nikki's ear to go to Arkansas once Nikki decided to transfer.

Thank god for Ken Goe. He won a Pulitzer Prize for best eater at the media buffet. If there is a lazier journalist in America (other than his mentor John Canzano) then he or she must be one of the brojos
