“I thought I was competing. I ran the fastest time by anyone since 2012 in Doha and my body was a little whacked. I had respect for the organisers telling them that I felt dehydrated but they didn’t have any respect for me,” he added.
“It’s crazy. I have no idea what they were thinking. I think they thought I wasn’t man enough and I might pull up in the race, or not finish it and then still ask for money.
“But I’m not a man like that. I’m not the kind of guy to cheat people of their money or let the fans down... that’s not what I do.”

Unintentional comedy genius!

You gotta hand it to Gatlin, he's got nerve.
Assume they are making some sort protest against his past (present?) cheating, which is rather funny coming from China.
So the real question is... did Justin Gatlin demand more money after his 9.74 or are the Chinese sure he's doping?

I know Gatlin isn't very smart, but does he really forget that 4 year ban?

Anyone with half a brain is sure.
He does not have half a brain. He really doesn't
Guys let it go.
He trusted someone he shouldn't have trusted. Contaminated supplements are a real problem these days but are not the fault of the athletes. I for one would rather see him compete than Meb Farah or any other of the noname SCRAWNY long distance joggers.
Also, in the end, DHEA doesn't help performance, maybe recovery a bit but so what. So does a massage or sauna...

Gatlin's defense has never been he took contaminated supplements. His defense is his masseuse Chris Whetstine sabotaged him and rubbed testosterone into his legs causing him to test positive.
In the crazy world of sprinting who knows maybe it's possible. Ben Johnson admits to taking steriods but claims he only tested positive because of someone in the Carl Lewis camp sabotaged him.
The one thing Gatlin wants us to forget is he was coached by Trevor Graham and nearly everyone in his group also got busted. The sniff test says the best sprinter in the group would be doping as well.
However, last I remmeber Trevor Graham was still saying he didn't dope his athletes and this was AFTER his one year house arrest sentence.
See this:

If that was the case why invite him
Looks like it may have something to do with a possible no show or more likely simply contract negotiations and money

This is completely false. But, cheaters are going to keep talking it up.
Whatever you do, don't use these products because they are WADA compliant:

Maybe the IAAF has another positive they aren't sanctioning.
Maybe he was demanding more money.
Maybe the Chinese were nervous about letting the guy run. I would find this surprising though.
It will be interesting to see how much he competes over the summer.
Not really, the rest of the world puts American athletes in the same boat with Russia and China.[

The Chinese were afraid that he would set a WR and that the IAAF then would have found out that the track is short.

Chinese track experts concluded that when you combine the short track with Gatlin rounding in top doping form, he's capable of running 9.31. No way they were willing to risk that!
I see that the steroids have had the OPPOSITE effect on his stones.
Maybe he's making this whole thing about getting kicked out up and bailed on the meet in order to dodge testing. I guess we'll see if Shanghai DL denies what Gatlin has said.
What is all this talk about a short track?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
