Sporthill makes some nice stuff. I have a jacket and pants that I can't even wear until it gets in the single digits, otherwise I get too hot.
I concur all my Sportshill stuff has kept me super warm through some chilly winters and only need layers with it when it goes well below 20, excellent gear that washes and wears well.....

Regular sweats, a stocking cap and fleece gloves will keep you warm down to 0. Running is not meant to be an expensive sport.
you obviously don't live in a cold area, or you only go out for 1 or 2 mile runs
sporthill.com
Jim Hill (the founder) is a former Oregon athlete, sub 4 minute miler etc.. I have lived in the mountains and the rain belt. his stuff is the best out there. go to there web page and check it out. they also give team discounts
my team got white sporthill half-zip tops for our uniforms this year. i must say it is the best running top that i currently own. way more comfortable then the other brands that i have tried. i highly recommend their stuff!
Maybe it's stupid, but I find that running in shorts at all times seems to keep me "on my toes" and I don't feel restricted. I will admit it's very challenging when we do our morning runs at 6:00 a.m. in January and it's 0 degrees outside.
I wouldn't suggest it unless you are a competitive runner.
For recreational runners, I would recommend Sporthills, a hybrid between tights and warm-up pants.
Brooks element jacket and anatomical tights are pretty nice.
Give them a go.
must be a chick, only a girl calls it a "top"
If price is no object , chose tight fitting leather. Make sure the ass cheeks are cut out, like David Lee Roth pants.
You'll want to get something that's got a windproof front. Swix and Craft make some really nice long underwear with wind proof fronts specifically for xc skiing but the range of motion is vertially the same. I use the stuff while running in the winter too and it's really comfortable.
Your boys will be most thankful.
I bought a pair of wind pants from Target junior year of HS. They're painfully thin nylon and a size S, so they're not baggy, and I've managed to train in them or wear them to meets Septmber through May. There is no lining but after a couple of washings they will be soft enough. Senior year I bought three more. I think I spent seven or eight dollars on each. Through the snow in January I've used them (I live in the Northeast). I'm a fan of gloves, sometimes a hat, and a warm top but minimal leg covering. Toeach his own. SportHill makes good stuff, too...but not at Target prices.
