The Apple Watch doesn't even have a front facing logo, so you will never see it. It is so unique in its design though that everyone will immediately realize that you are wearing an Apple Watch.
As to how it compares to Garmin? Does Garmin make stainless steel watches with sapphire crystal glass and ceramic backs?

I've gone from "not at all interested" to "pretty interested". The reviews have been quite positive when you read them in their entirety (though headlines are mixed... gets more clicks that way I suppose).
I still think I'll hold off for another generation or two. I'm just not a first generation buyer. Apple Pay and run tracking are enough to make me debate though...

I have a feeling it's going to take until early fall for supply to catch up with demand, when the christmas biz is starting to pick up. For next year, I'd assume they will introduce the rev2 watch later in 2016, more in line with their iPod refresh back in the day, i.e. September 2016.
From there I assume it's going to be 24 month release cycles. But that's just my 2cts.

I'd be surprised if they moved it to the fall. iPhone is on a September release cycle, and the iPad has been Oct/Nov the last two years. I would think it'd be in Apple's interest to keep Apple Watch as a spring item to spread out the releases.
Either way, I'm ok with being patient.

Apple Watch more than anything else in their line up is a typical "gift", so September/October would make perfect sense.
iPad is stagnating, I wouldn't be surprised if they moved to an 18 months refresh cycle sooner rather than later...

My friend just got a Garmin (not even sure what one) and he showed me it quickly last night. It tracked his workouts and loaded them wireless into his phone and he got email on his watch. Thought that was pretty neat. I don't know (I assume so) if he had to have his phone close by to get the emails.
I would be most interested in a device that has GPS tracking, small as an ipod that I could download podcasts without having to use a computer to download them and could get email. I don't necessarily want a watch. I am fine clipping it in like a ipod.

- same materials: Stainless Steel, Sapphire Crystal glass
- more accurate: Apple watch auto adjusts and is as accurate as +- 2milliseconds per day
- stylish: it's the only smartwatch that looks good
- it has tons of extras like notifications, complications and glances

I prefer my $28 bulletproof, water proof, beautiful Casio watch from Wal-mart that I don't have to charge everyday. It's 4 years-old & still on the same battery. If I want notifications, apps, & web access I'll grab my phone out of my pocket.

I am with you. I am a sloppy dress for comfort type of guy. I don't need a fancy stylish watch.
As I said, I would like a device that:
would allow me to download music/podcasts without attaching to a computer
would beep each mile or other distance that I set before the run
Would show distance and pace so if I clipped it on my wrist I would be able to see it at any time.
Have the option to use it as a radio with both am and fm.
would keep track of miles and elevation - though I honestly don't know what I would do with that information.
Have a map that would show me where I am on the map so I could choose different trail options when exploring new trails
Would allow me to receive emails (it would vibrate or beep with a new email) and allow me respond to them with a voice message or convert my voice message into text and then allow me to send the email.
Allow me to use it as a gps device when I drive.
Allow wireless download of data from runs to my computer.
Size - the size of my current older generation ipod that I clip to my shorts and have no problems with it shaking around. The screen size is plenty big.
Apple watch starts at $350 for a bare bones model & goes up to $17,000. (You can buy a new iPad mini for $399.) That's way too much to pay for a watch that's essentially a notification system that you currently get on your iPhone. Plus, consider all the limitations & flaws that are typical with first generation devices.
Tech nerds/reviewers have said there's a huge learning curve that takes at least 4-5 days for even the tech nerds. Out of the box, users have to fiddle with numerous settings to make the watch useable, thus cutting the target audience even smaller.
All this watch will do is push people to "new heights of narcissism" according to the New York Times.
I'm going to be the first one in line for the Apple Pocket Watch. Fop me FTW!!
