I was referring strictly to their coaching abilities. The fact that you had to defend Garrett with non-coaching categories suggests you know I'm right.

I think everything I said relates to and directly influences coaching. You do know wins and losses, including playoffs are coaching related right? Or did you skip the first paragraph?
Like I said, its early for both. Personally I think ball control is a huge part of the game and i don't think chips system will win in January, but who knows maybe It will.
I reiterated I was talking about coaching, so obviously I read your post. And I should point out that you completely ignored Kelly's college coaching credentials. Oh, and it's certainly not early for Garrett. He came within one bad call of getting canned this year.

Kelly is an outstanding college coach, But college is a different ball game, ask Nick Saban. I feel like there are better debates we could be having other than one where the clear answer is who the hell knows.
I don't think Garret was all that close to being let go. 8-8 again would have been a tough pill but that defense was bad enough I think he would have gotten another year. Say all you want about Dallas, but one thing that makes me proud to be a Cowboys fan is they generally stick by and believe in their guys. Look at the shit they've taken standing behind romo and Garret over the years
I remember when they put Tom Landry out to pasture. One of the classiest coaches this game has ever seen. Still gets me choked up how poorly Dallas treated him in the end.
Philly definitely is rolling the dice. By Dec/Jan we'll know if the decision to shake it up was smart or not. Curious where the Oregon QB ends up...Philly, DC, or elsewhere.
Dallas stands by their guys? Tell that to DeMarco Murray. They used him up and discarded him.

Really? They built an offensive line that allowed him to convince someone to way overpay for an injury prone and fumble prone back despite all the data we have on how backs decline after 27. Not to mention they did offer him a contract, they just didn't over pay.
I agree about Landry, but totally different front office then

Kelly > Garrett
That post was not the OP.
I realize that I started this thread with an unregistered user name.
But there should be some courtesy not mimic another poster in a thread.
Last season's division race came down to the second Eagles/Cowboys game in Philly.
Jason Garrett had his team ready to play form the opening kickoff.
Chip Kelly's Eagles came out completely flat. The botch on the opening kickoff was symbolic of the entire team's energy that day.
Chip Kelly supposedly had a great conditioning program that would help them finish the season strong.
Carey Williams complained of being tired going into the games (of course he is gone now).
The Eagles went 1-3 in December, only beating the Giants in a meaningless season ending game.
The Cowboys finished 4-0.
Missing the playoffs after a 9-3 start is pretty bad.
They traded Evan Mathis, their starting right guard.
Gone from last year on offense:
Starting QB (pro bowler)
Starting RB (pro bowler)
#1 WR (pro bowler)
Starting Right Guard (Herremans was solid)
Starting Left Guard (pro bowler)
Of course I need to mention DeSean Jackson was released last , so that's two #1 receivers gone two years in a row.
I am awaiting the release of their TE Celek and maybe another starting lineman (Peters?).
Their remaining starters are 3 lineman, TE and slot WR/H back
Kelly's had nothing but praise for celek's blocking. I'd be surprised if he was jettisoned.
Numbers came out to the public:
Eagles offered 42 million with 21 guaranteed over 5 years meanwhile Dallas offered 24 million with 12 guaranteed over 4 years.
Murray goes on the make a joke saying it wasnt about the money, it was about winning.

Nothing would surprise me at this point.
I can't believe the Cowboys lowballed Murray like that. Such disrespect after all he did for them. No wonder he left.

Stephen Jones is doing an outstanding job. They offered him a contract based on what he will do in the future. Philly offered him a contract based on what he did for the Cowboys last year.
Since Stephen Jones took over, they have operated with the Patriot model. You pay players for what you WILL get, not the past. Same reason the Pats let Mankins go last year, and Wilfork and Revis go this year.
Don't be stupid. They obviously expect Murray to continue to perform at a high level. Are the Cowboys paying Dez for what he did before? Think, man.

No they aren't actually, they gave him the franchise tag because he is asking for too much money. The statistics also show that wide receivers remain steady in production for a lot longer past age 26 than running backs. Murray just finished the best year of his career and they knew that. Now they can sign a mid-level veteran free agent and draft someone from the deepest running back draft in a long time and pay him the rookie contract.
You are wise to agree with me.

The Eagles are making so many moves this offseason it's worth its own thread.
After going 10-6 the last two years under Chip Kelly with no playoff wins this is what Kelly is doing right now.
Mainly getting rid of all of the players acquired by Andy Reid.
Pro Bowl QB Nick Foles - gone
Pro Bowl WR DeSean Jackson - released a year ago
Pro Bowl WR Jeremy Maclin - gone
Pro Bowl RB LeSean McCoy - gone
Starting RH Todd Herremans - gone
Pro Bowl DE/OL Trent Cole - gone
Starting CB Carey Williams - gone (not acquired by Reid)
Other starters are still expected to be released before this is over.
Update to the thread.
They also released pro bowl left guard Evan Mathis in the offseason.
So they let their two guards go and did nothing to bring in new talent there.
And they traded Brandon Boykin, who was their nickel DB and a very solid player, and didn't bring in a viable replacement.
So, the Eagles have started 0-2 and look horrible.
Bradford had a nice second half in their first game after a big first half hole but has thrown 2TDs to 4 ints in the two games and has a 72 QB rating.
Foles, playing for the Rams had a nice win against the Seahawks to start the season and was clutch in the end. He was bad in a loss to the Redskins but he had no run support and his QBR is 94, with 2 TDs and no ints.
Lesean McCoy, now playing for the Bills, had a quiet first game in the Bills win and had 15 carries for 89 yards yesterday.
DeMarco Murray has 21 attempts for a TOTAL of 11 yards on the SEASON. (not really his fault as the line is letting defenders into the backfield every play)
And Kiko Alonso, the linebacker they traded McCoy to get, looks good but left the game with knee injury yesterday. He missed all last year with an ACL injury.
The Eagles new multi-million dollar CB, Byron Maxwell has been burned up and down the field in both games.
Teams can recover from an 0-2 start but the Eagles look pretty bad.
They are especially bad on offense even with everyone healthy.
Do they just need to build chemistry through the year?
Did Chip Kelly screw this up?
This is looking very bad for Kelly. Worse than even the biggest haters could have predicted.
