Yes Diane
such a great teaching point for younger runners! even splits! I am so dumbfounded by some athletes running any race and having no sense of pace. Flabbergasted that college males are running 29.1 for their first 200 of a 5k in which they run 15:20's. SMH! Well done Emily! Great run!
It was negative splits
And not that many 15:20 colleagite guys run 29.1 for the 1st 200
But yes, that was a great performance by her, most people who run races solo like her don't know how to pace themselves to fast times, she has this mastered
On the same track kim Smith ran something like a 14:39 so they aren't exactly similar talents. Some runners just like running alone and can relax to grind out those splits ^.
Proof you don't have to be anorexic
It helps though: stride and poser/weight are huge. I don't remember seeing anyone as thick and compact as Sisson have this kind of success?

Speaking of that, could she break the NCAA outdoor 10k record? Lisa Uhl 31:18? I wouldn't count her out, back to back 15:39's, it would be close...
(1500,5000):
4:10,15:12 = 31:57.03
4:15,15:12 = 31:36.54
4:20,15:12 = 31:17.28
Those^ 1500 times are getting too slow I think. She might need something better than 15:12 ability to do it?
4:05,15:00 = 31:36.85
4:10,15:00 = 31:16.36
4:15,15:00 = 30:57.09

Nice try, dillwad. Smith was 27 when she ran 14:39. She ran the CR of 15:14 at Sisson's age, which is the record Emily broke.
Also same coach, so very equivalent talents (except that Emily was better as a junior)
Interesting calculationsI think she's between 4:13-4:14 1500m shapeAnd you have to think, 15:12 indoor, negative splits, soloOutdoor in a competitive 5k, more even splits, good weather, girls to string her along, she probably more in 15:05 shape maxRegardless I inputted her 3k (slightly more accurate than 1500m), 5k times into that same calculator, 8:52 and 15:12 then accounted for outdoor after the factIt gave me 31:32, which running a 10k indoor would be very different than outdoor, so 31:32-13 = 31:19 and the record is 31:18 so like I said, it would be very close, I used 13 seconds but again it's up to your interpretation for more or lessAssuming she hasn't fully peaked yet, she might be able to manage a better shape by then as long as she stays healthy

Obviously. Based on your epic self-bloviating bio, you can't wait to let people know who you are.
http://mo.milesplit.com/members/bantazmoYou must have real issues if you are going on milesplit then sure his bio and post it here. Man crush maybe. This is not the place for back and forth. Banta absolutely coached her and still communicates with the family on a regular basis. Obviously a lot of people read this forum and might want to be careful about the things they post. Especially when they are saying things that are completely incorrect and never met the individual in person.

Emily is similar in build to Jen Rhines who has had a phenomenal career.
